you’re either rude or drunk or inconsiderate because the drivers here are always polite.
believe me, i’ve taken buses all over canada.
and take the bus at the proper place, ie bus stops.

Actually I have witnessed a racially motivated incident on a Metro Transit bus…two different people sitting on the bus with music playing on headphones…one white guy and one black guy. The white guy is sitting closer to the driver by at least 12 feet and very obviously playing his music very loudly, black is also listening to his music loudly but not nearly as loud. Bus driver stops the bus and walks right past the white guy so that he can tell the black guy to turn down his music. Two things must be noted at this point to avoid confusion or misunderstanding:1. I am sitting past the black guy with the white guy furthest from me and I can still ONLY hear the white guys music.2. I am Caucasian so before you start any “Oh you are just siding with” crap, you can stop right there.

The bus drivers here are NOT always polite, my friend. Not even to well dressed, sober, polite, i-pod free, middle aged white guys like me. There are a few unfailingly pleasant and professional drivers, a whole bunch of indifferent ones, and a few who are utter tools. You are fortunate if you haven’t encountered any of them, but I assure you, they do exist.
I agree, some bus drivers are polite and nice. Smile on the face all day long. Others are just plain rude and resentful. What gives you the right to take you job’s frustrations out on me the passenger. I now own a car thanx to our bus drivers. I just couldn’t handle the rudness and busses not showing up anymore. Truly NOT SHOWING UP like religion on thursday evening around 5:30 in front of burger king in burnside. Try it, the 52, never shows up for that time. Called and complained several times. Nothing was done. Not to mention i love how they complain about how dangerous the job is, yet they wanna get paid more for it rather than actually doing something about the safety, last contract had nothing to do with safety of the driver yet that’s what mainly drove the contract negotiations. SAFETY!!! Other provinces installed shatter-proof glass enclosure around the driver’s seat to protect the driver. I see the new contract failed to include that. I thought that was mainly the drivers’ concern?!
