My 17-year-old daughter works at the movie theatres. She came home from a very busy night on Tuesday (cheap night), and proceeded to tell me about an incident that makes me both sad and enraged at the abuse endured by those who work in the service industry. As she was frantically making pretzels to keep up with the orders, she noticed an older man that she described as having “walked off the set of Duck Dynasty” becoming agitated. She informed him his pretzel would be ready any minute and he then went off on her, cursing and yelling that his frozen yogurt was melting because he was waiting so long. He then proceeded to wind up and throw his frozen yogurt IN HER FACE! As she stood there covered in this douchebag’s melty yogurt, he turned around and left the theatres so there were no repercussions other than making my daughter feel like a piece of shit. I hope you choke on your beard and/or a hot pretzel….asshole. —Mad Movie Mom

The customer is not always right. Sometimes the customer can be wrong and a shit head. Your daughter should of told him she didn’t see him there. What with the camo and long bug infested and beard and all. Guy might of took it as a compliment. “Finally, my camouflage worked!”, is what he might of thought.
While reading your comment, I got a mental picture of jack ass’ in a duck blind, eating frozen yogurt.
So sad to hear this. Perhaps your daughter would find more civilized people working at a coffee chain (plus there’s tips at most places). Get her out of that bloody theatre. This is not worth minimum wage to have some hillbilly throw stuff at you. I feel so badly for your girl. As a parent, I would be seething.
The location, day, and product are of no relevance to the bitch. A customer threw something at a staff member. I am certain there are cameras in the location (inside and out) and this would be assault. Yo Gert, have management look at the tape and contact the police.
I’m not convinced it happened as described. Maybe a confrontation and rude words but it seems a little over the top for me. There are security cameras all over the place which would have caught the interaction. What is described is an assault, yet no one – including management – saw fit to call police. And I wold be more pissed at the theatre for not dealing with it in an appropriate manner; chalking it up to “oh well, he; gone now” is poor management.
Holy shit… Koda’s actually right for a change
LOL; Mr Z
To be clear, that is not acceptable behaviour from a customer.
However, OP should not serve melted yo Gert
This was an assault. The police need to be called. There are most likely video surveillance cameras in the theater and your daughter should be able to identify the culprit. This should not be let go.
I doubt that this happened as described. Meh, wait until your daughter has to deal with ‘rich’ American tourists who don’t tip when she’s waiting tables to pay her way through vet school.
If they are assaulting her Cranky, she now knows what to do.
Get her to sue him. Spend her teenage years driving around in his car, People like that need to be thrown in a cell for a while psycho!
To Charlie Brown – While I agree that the situation was managed poorly, I don’t think it means that the situation didn’t “happen as described”. When you consider a lot of the Management staff are likely in their early 20’s only earning a little more than minimum wage, they may not have the experience or knowledge in dealing with these tough situations, and therefor may not have acted to what you may deem as appropriate. You obviously haven’t worked in the service industry – I have witnessed my fair share of angry customers throwing things at co-workers. At 17 I turned a blind eye to it myself..
Sorry Cranky , Charlie Brown this is a 17-year old, not as worldly as you two probably are. My kids have worked in the service industry for the summer and not surprisingly there are way too many assholes that feel because they have had a bad day they can bully a kid. Says a lot about the other staff, managers and other people in line. I wish he would have done that when I was there. Karma’s a bitch.
