Really…. 30 km/h on the highway because its raining??? If you are too stupid to operate a motor vehicle during a little rain, maybe its time to cut your license up and take a cab or bus.

I find the biggest problem here in Nova Scotia isn’t people driving too fast, but too damn slow! Like this one guy on the 103 from Chester into Halifax the other day going 80 km/hr in the PASSING LANE! Come on, buddy! I actually had to pass him on the right.
That highway is the worst for people going annoyingly slow until the passing lane appears then suddenly speeding up so you can’t pass only to slow down again after it merges to one lane. I hate it!
I think it’s mainly due to all the oldies going to and from their summer cottages in the South Shore. My grandmother was like the people you described: she used to drive 20 to 30 km/hr below the speed limit along the highway, then intentionally speed up when people tried passing her because she “didn’t like driving behind people because it made [her] nervous.” So very annoying!
Totally agree with the slow driver bitch, especially when they speed up in the passing lanes. However, don’t say speeding isn’t a problem, because I’m sure if you look at the stats, it causes a good portion of highway accidents.

Driver me nucking futs. These yokels -qpmzwonxeibcruv’s grandmother included- are the same ones who have 18 people in the rearview mirror and still intentionally try to keep it that way. WTF are you thinking? pull over for 2 mins and you won’t be driving behind anyone… they’ll be fucking MILES ahead of you still picking up distance since they’re actually going the limit.
Studies have shown speeding and passing everyone in your way might save you 5 mins. on a hundred km trip. What are you doing in those extra 5 mins.?!?! Sitting around watching TV? Writing dumbass rants at thecoast.ca? Smarten up and don’t risk your life and others with your impatience.
they had studies where they were allowed to break the law in simulated heavy traffic?
All the studies I remembered reading were the case of
1. person drives 100 km and passes no-one and takes x mins to arrive.
2. person drives 100 km and passes everyone where it was legal to do so and takes x-5 mins to arrive.
I highly doubt they let some road-raging driver speed around traffic like some of the lunatics do here….
