I cannot believe the number of drive thrus in HRM. To make matters worse, they are ALWAYS lined up. Cars idling, time wasted, waist-lines expanding. Do people here not understand carbon-emissions? Do you forget how to walk? Doesn’t anyone make coffee at home anymore? Park your car, get off your ass, and go inside. Better yet, make your coffee at home and take it in a mug. The only people who should be in the drive thru lineups are those with mobility issues. —Disgusted by Lazy Nova Scotians

What I like is how I have seen in some places, (I’m thinking of a visit to Kanata), the drive thrus are set up in a way to NOT fuck up regular traffic, whereas here it seems like civil engineering the various burbs, extensions, and ‘slieves/lanes/’parks’ is an afterthought and they just plunk them down wherever Tims or Micks wants to put one. I’m thinking the Tims at the top of Osbourne by NorthwestArmDrive here….

People who getting coffee (one or two) are not the ones holding things at the Timmies drive-thru. It’s the people getting ten coffees for the office or sandwiches. The drive-thrus should be express ($5.00 maximum). It wouldn’t screw up traffic so much.

Bro Tim, you don’t have the freedom to do whatever you want with your land. It’s called urban planning. Drive-thrus are butt ugly, horrible for traffic and they wouldn’t be necessary in the slightest if our communities weren’t so car-oriented.

Yeah OP, fuck off. If I want to idle my truck for 10 or 15 minutes in a drive-through lineup when I could park and be in and out in 5 or less, that’s my choice. This way I can maintain my footprint through idling, daily use of non-recyclable paper cups AND clog my arteries with greasy food all at once. BAM! TRIPLE-WHAMMY! If anything I say we need MORE drive-throughs.
