Can you imagine if everyone took a chance to explore as much of Canada as they could without wasting away at a job they don’t like and finding alternative ways to make money?
If everyone stopped to talk and asked the person sitting there asking for money what roads they had travelled and what brought them to where they are right now?
If the people that live in the city they came to see showed these “drifter kids” the hospitality that we are world renowned for instead of making myopic assumptions based on appearances and then whining about it?
If we all had enough kindness and compassion to take one animal, our best friend, everywhere we went no matter the circumstances?
Imagine if we all felt so liberated!
Wouldn’t this just be a sea of happy, well-adjusted, fulfilled and non-judgmental people?

i don’t like them BECAUSE they ask for my money. i went to work and earned that. they sit and ask for it. why should they get to travel on everyone else’ dollar. And i think it’s cruel they take animals along when they can barely feed themselves. I know a few of these people and it’s laziness. hoping things will get better from city to city instead of facing reality that they need a fucking job.

as one of the people who co-wrote this bitch, let me assure you of several things;
i have been on my own since i was 17. neither of my parents is capable of, or willing to, support me.
i am not a drifter. i do believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt, and i have opened my heart and home to people on their travels, with nary a negative consequence.
i don’t even have a library card, but it’s on my list of things to do.
i’ve also been working 40+ hours a week since 2002. i’m self sufficient, self-supporting, and i even pay my taxes.
