Did your brain take leave of your skull? One of the hottest guys I’ve ever seen has gorgeous blonde dreads and works on Blowers St. at a popular newstand – soooooorrrrryyyyy – the dreads and the nose ring are a sizzling combo for one sweet piece of eye candy.
Once, when I was in Barbados I saw this guy with dreads down to his ass. It was amazing! Nothing wrong with dreads.
I’d gladly suffer a fur ball for a dude with dreads.
There’s good dreads and there’s bad dreads. The people I know who have them, have clean hair. There’s nothing wrong with dreads when done right.

Saw this guy with dreads down to his knees once, those were the only dreads I ever liked on anyone, and only because they were so ridiculously awesomely long.
For the most part they make your head look like an octopus, or a mop if they are thinner… but if that’s what you’re going for…
It’s all about expression – if that’s your thing, so be it. As long as flies aren’t circling someone’s head, what the hey.
I got whipped in the face by some guys dreads at the grocery store once… haven’t trusted them since.
With some obvious exceptions (and you can tell a mile away) dreads are alright in my books. Most people I’ve met with dreads are cool, chill, down to earth people – not because of their hairdo, but there’s some correlation. It’s also not something you can change overnight (i.e. giant 80s sunglasses), so that alone keeps the hipsters away. They’d be all over it otherwise, I’m sure.

i apologize in advance to those who may get offended but this is my honest opinion and i feel like sharing it. i think that unkept,un cared for dreads are nasty. almost every single white person with dreads that i have seen keeps their dreads nasty.
over my liftetime i have seen many many many people with dreads. about 15% of them have been white dreads. about 14% of those white dreads had nasty, stinky, uncared for dreads.
dreadlocks arent supposed to be a cool way of expressing ” hey! im disgusting, i dont take care of myself and i want the world to know that”. most white dreads i have seen seem to think that having dreads is a way to do this. they make their dreadlocks look like shitlocks.
Yeah, I’d take dreads over rat tail or mullet any day….

I don’t mind tight well kept dreads. I think they actually make someone look like they care a lot about their appearance, if not actually being vain. Crusty, loose, musty dreads that look like they double as a snotrag have got to go.
There is a family of dreads that I see around town and they are so cool! I think they are from Barbados (maybe?) and the whole family has dreads. Grandpa, grandma, mum, dad and even the baby! The grandparents both have incredibly long dreads and they’re both two tone. White at the top and brown at the bottom. I think they look cool as hell.
Gotta say, most dreads are gross. They are simply dirty – and they begin to smell. Everyone’s hair naturally falls out, and then replenishes itself, all the dead broken off hair stays up inside the dreads, and after a year or so the dreads are mostly dead hair all clumped up, full of pollution, dust and skin flakes.
Smell wet dreadlocks one day… its not very nice.
Aside from that, dreadlocks are a look… just like huge glasses, skinny jeans or chuck taylors… you like it or you don’t.
an ex of mine had dreads for a couple of months. I’m glad he got rid of them. I liked how they looked but they felt weird tickling my face when we were making out. And i had to find somewhere to put my hands other than in his hair.

I think you underestimate the time involved in keeping dreds. They are in fact A LOT of work for a long time. Especially for white people, because they don’t have the natural capacity for dreds. I have given my sister, and a (red headed, who did go to dal) friend of mine dreds, and they had to be constantly playing/messing with them just to keep them dredded. Both of them washed their hair, but still got people coming up to them all the time telling them that dreds are gross. People assume all dred heads are unwashed and dirty, but most people with them keep them clean, and have to do a lot of work everyday to keep them nice looking. It’s certainly not something that happens because you haven’t washed/brushed your hair in a week.
I wouldn’t mind them if they didn’t have the correlation to the creature I call “LameDude”; Generally someone who wears hemp pants, no shirt, and carries bongos everywhere. Tamtams is their homeland.
i do not think that dreadlocks are gross or dirty. i think they look real nice when well cared for. i do however think that SOME dreadlocks (the sloppy, matted, uncared for ones) look gross.
i get that white people have a harder time keeping their hair in dreads, i also know that it takes a lot of work for them to get them.
but i gotta say that of all the dreads i’ve seen and known,there are a lot of white ones out there that look (and SMELL) like shit. maybe those white people take the time to get the dreads and then just let em go and turn to turds.

I hate fake dreds and yeah those gross looking fake ones are usually on white ppl, h-e-l-l-o your hair doesnt work in that style!
I had a class with a couple that had dreds, i unfortunately had to sit behind them one class, and man my nose HATED me

I saw a beautiful boy at the market with dreads. He didnt seem to smell bad, and also happened to be white. But hey – I see beautiful boys everywhere, so thats neither here nor there, it could just be me.
I imagine that for every smelly dread head out there, if you were to cut their hair off there would be a smelly normally un hygenic person underneath.
I love dreads if they are taken care of and look decent. It can take up to years to have them look decent!
I got some long lucious dreads and my hair is a fuckin dirty stinky tangled mess and i love it…

I’m thinking about getting dreads for the first time. I’ve got a few reasons. I love the look. They are a bold statement. Being bi-racial, I also see it as a cultural thing. It’s just hard to find someone experienced to do the dreads.
I don’t see the appeal behind perms and faux hawks myself.
The fact that you posted this proves how uninformed you are.. Like everyone on this board has said … Dreads are a lot of work ! Besides if you don’t like them don’t get them ! Stop being a judgemental arse
