So its only 25 dollars, so I don’t expect any sympathy, but hear me out.
Parked in two hour (Mon-Fri 8-4) parking. After an hour 45 I left. Came back to the same area or parking zone as they call it, some two hours later. I park in close proximity ( 2 cars away) from where I was earlier. half hour later, BOOM! ticket, for parking over 2 hours.
Why are these parking dicks so obsessed with every minor violation as well as making up violations.
Basically HRM’s interpretation of a 2 hour parking sign is that you can only park there (in that zone) for 2 hours any given day. Can’t find this anywhere in a by law. Tried fighting it, also a big FAIL. Next step court… doesn’t seem worth it… but tempting… —Classic bitch

No, didn’t happen as described. They will chalk your tire and time your plate to determine if you were there overtime. No, you got a ticket and you’re pissed off so you thought you’d write a fake bitch. Please, go to court and tell us when. I want to see the look on the judge’s eyes when you tell him this story.

Parking zones were added in December with little to no fanfare…. your best bet is to not even bother parking on the same side of the street. They did away with chalking tires in December… now they only care if you’re on the same side of the street more than once throughout the day. Parking enforcement will explain the whole process, it’s definitely complex but Chad at PE is willing to help you understand if need be.
Fight it. The bozo will have to show up at night court in 3 – 6 months and prove that you never moved the vehicle. Be factual, calm and courteous. You can cross examine the ticket issuer and gently make him/her squirm, all the while you smile. Prepare in advance, write down your evidence and write down the questions you want to ask.
Consider asking if she/he has a quota (her/his employer has a quota and it is in the contract with HRM). Ask how long she/he has been employed in issuing tickets, what training was given and what instructions were given. Make her/him sweat.
I beat a parking ticket with photos, the crown withdrew the charge after looking at the photos and talking with the judge.
The employees get paid for attending the court and it takes up to 3 hours out of their life because they attend for several tickets.

I believe that you have to move your car more than 100 (50?) metres away, or at least that’s the case in other cities.
Actually the ticket shouldn’t have been given. I actually checked this as I’ve had a similar issue. I parked in a legal parking zone on a public road and the parking loser was going to give me a ticket for parking there more than 24 hours. The parking zone didn’t have a time limit on it. So I was parking legally and I wasn’t breaking any rules. His logic to justify the ticket is “A person can’t leave a car unattended on the side of a “Highway” for more than 24 hours”. He was referring to residential city side street that has a speed limit of 50km/h.
He’s lucky I didn’t punch him for being so condescending and insulting my intelligence. So yes I would fight the ticket. I actually contacted his supervisor and she revoked the ticket since he was an idiot! Not all parking tickets are valid. Make sure you check the bylaws where you park. The city is cheap and broke and they will try and ticket you regardless of where you park. A friend once had 1 minute left on her car. As she was walking back to it she noticed the parking enforcement walking away, after placing a ticket on her car. She looked at the meter and noticed there was almost 2 minutes left. She ran after him and asked why she got a ticket. His answer was this “I assumed you were not coming back on time. Unfortunately the ticket has already been issued and can’t be revoked”.
