You take the 8am bus from the Dartmouth Sportsplex every weekday, and god forbid if you’re not the first one to set foot on it. You push your way through every man, woman and child to get on first, and yell in the face of anyone who beats you to it. I see you checking your watch from the time you sit in your ‘special seat’ that you think you own, and if the driver doesn’t leave right on the second he’s supposed to, you throw your standard tantrum, pounding on the seats and windows. I’m actually surprised that the driver himself hasn’t gotten up and knocked a few teeth out for you. You may be deaf, but that doesn’t go over as an excuse to be such a fucking cunt to everybody. Get a fucking clue, you’re not god..you’re just a 40yr old asshole with a fucking 3 year old’s complex.

Cranky – What do you mean by “its Dartmouth”? I’ve lived in Dartmouth for the past 6 years and LOVE it. The crime rate in Halifax is much higher than Dartmouth 🙂

I remember working in a restaurant close to the ferry terminal in Halifax and everyone once in awhile we’d get customers on Fridays who are ‘out on their weekend pass’.But anyway, yep, Dartmouth is fine and I’m sure the crime rate is lower and all of that and its a ‘great place to live’, but I do a fair bit of driving around Dartmouth, and as soon as I cross the bridge I’m presented with the Sportsplex/Bus Terminal and the people that frequent it, and I dare say that “Special Seat Guy” is outnumbering the popluation of Halifax by a 10:1 ratio, but thats just me.Heh, when I see Special Seat Guy types around town here my first thought is “how did he/she get this far from Dartmouth?”Shoot away.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion! And I do know what you mean about people being out on their “weekend pass”, trust me I’m a professional who works in Downtown Dartmouth and I see them everyday…but they are harmless.I still say Dartmouth rocks!!! They even plow our sidewalks in front of our houses – we don’t have to clean them ourselves 🙂

Just moved here from Ottawa and I must admit, Dartmouth is great!!! I have excellent neighbours, a great place to live and close to all amenities…. Funny that the only people who don’t like Dartmouth and who seem to have a superior attitude about it all live in Halifax …. Don’t shit in my backyard and I won’t shit in yours!..PS, I’m a professional and live in a neighbourhood full of other professionals….Try living in Ottawa where it took me 8 years to finally meet my neighbour… (they came over because they saw me packing and wanted to snoop around to see what I was getting rid of…)
Woohoo! Another Dartmouth lover :)Dartmouth is great, lower property taxes, lower priced housing, great neighbours, snow removal perks, and yes close to all amenities. I live on the “Flower” streets and recommend anyone that is looking to buy/rent to check out this area. So convenient, even if you work in Halifax, my fiance works on the other side of the harbour and loves being able to walk and take the ferry and get to work in 25 minutes with only the cost of the ferry!!

Yes, I understand that the flower streets have become quite popular with the young and affluent ‘arty’ crowd, but you’re still in Dartmouth. I don’t have a superior attitude, I’m from neither Halifax nor Dartmouth, I’m just basing my attitude from what I’ve observed. At least in Halifax there is a clear border between sketchy and non-sketchy areas where you’re more likely to run into “Special Seat Guy” types, and all that entails. In Dartmouth it seems that the neighborhoods overflow into one another.I could never get the layout of Dartmouth down either. Is Colby Village, Dartmouth? Cole Harbour? Woodlawn? What?
Actually I’m still trying to figure out the layout too cranky… and I will admit, there are some areas that do look “sketchy”…
I personally don’t like dartmouth. It’s just a matter of opinion really. Lots of sketchy people. My sister lives in Dartmouth and now i only visit her like once a month maybe. I hate crossing that bridge. Everything is so spread out and you need a car to get anywhere in Dartmouth. Terrible transit service. I really haven’t seen many grocery stores. Not many stores are open after 5pm. Regarding the earlier comment about the crime rate being higher in Halifax. Well if you investigate, most of the people committing the crime in Halifax are not from Halifax. Either Dartmouth, Spryfield, or even the Valley sometimes! But then again, that’s the city we chose to live in, so we have to put up with that. I can’t see myself living in Dartmouth. Or Spryfield.
