I’m walking down Robie St (South to North) the other night. I walk past the QE2 and notice the signage for Emergency has no lighting. It’s not that the light is burned out, rather, there is no light provided. That seemed a little strange for something so important.
A couple of minutes later I walk by The Oval (it’s 9:45pm) and it’s lit up like a homing beacon visible from Mars. This isn’t a bitch against The Oval, I love it, but come on Halifax let’s get it together. —Curious Pedestrian

Did you speak to the hospital Admin.? Good luck with that as you may get more sense from a sponge.
BTW (and this is not really important) if you were walking from South St. to North St. along Robie St. that used to be referred to as walking ‘up’ Robie. Usually one goes ‘up’ north and ‘down’ south, but not a biggie as long as you got where you were going safely, which is important.
maybe they are like taxi roof lights, not turned on when in service. but then again, seeing how much of a bunch of slackers working there, i have to wonder, if anyone is being served. i hear tell of people going in there, waiting 10-12 hours or more, and then these are the emergency cases.i had the misfortune of being there about a year ago, and this lady, who was bleeding quite a bit, was there from around 8 a.m., and this was at 9 p.m. at night.
what the fuck are they doing in all this time? i saw about 3 people go in before 12 p.m., and no, they were not emerg. cases. i finally got in at about 5 in the morning. and swore never to go back again, even if i’m dying. fuck that place. and yes, it was an emergency for me. had a piece of glass in my eye i could not get out.
If you can see the emergency sign without adding lights, then it would be a waste of money to add one.
