To whoever decided that the baseball field in Willow park is no longer welcoming dogs should be hit on the nose with a newspaper! The surrounding area is home to many dog owners that have used this area for years, who are respectful enough to clean up after their pets. More respectful than those baseball fans & players that curse & yell from 7am til whenever they shut those damn lights off. To do this at the end of the baseball season is ridiculous to start with, and to say that the area that is not even part of the baseball field is off limits is absurd. Our tax dollars pay to have the unused area maintained, and for the HRM to take away this area from dog owners is yet again another stupid move on their part. A baseball field is for baseball, it is funded by Baseball NS and the local government. You may clean up after your dog, but lots of people don’t. Or they bag up their crap and toss the bag to the side of the trail for some unknown reason. We don’t want to play baseball and get crap on us because there are so many unresponsible pet owners around. It was allowed but the priviledge was abused and now it has been revoked.
Get it through your head. We don’t like your dogs loose. They are unruly. Keep it at your house. Clean up your own mess.

Did you know that the baseball field you refer to is actually owned by DND? Did you also know that up until recently they had NO TRESSPASSING signs up all over that field? I do, because I was once “arrested” by dumbass military police with nothing better to do than pick up a 12 year old using a baseball field. I’m surprised you have been “doing it for years” when I had such trouble in my younger years. HRM doesn’t have the authority to “take away” the area, because you were never supposed to have used it in the first place, nor is it theirs to permit/not permit things.
I do know that the baseball fans and players tend to… be overzealous much of the time.
