A few days ago I had a grown man pull his car over on the bedford highway, simply to give me a lecture about picking up my dogs poop. Wow thank you, I could not give less of a rats ass about your opinion.
Here’s a thought HRM, you want me to pick it up then dont make me carry it for five blocks. Can we get a trash can every now and again? Otherwise I am pretty sure it is less detrimental to leave something biodegradable than to ditch a plastic bag because you have nowhere to dispose of it. Shit for thought. —GFYS

  1. When I was a kid, we were taught to put our litter in our pockets until we found a garbage can. Just a suggestion.

  2. Agree 100%. This city seems to want to cheap out on public trash cans in recent years. It’s seriously ridiculous that we often have to walk a mile or more just to find one, and NO, putting dog poop in my pocket is not an option.

  3. (Nasally whine) ‘…I could not give less of a rats (sic) ass about your opinion.’

You’d better care about what other people think if you’re irresponsibly managing your dog’s waste. Or you might find yourself with a mouthful of dog turd.

If every dog owner thought like you, we’d be up to our chins in shit. Blaming the lack of garbage cans is just your own fucking laziness shining thru.

  4. Excuse me, but can these cliched bitch graphics get any worse? It’s like someone just went nuts with bad clip art.

  5. You were on the Bedford Highway not exactly a residential street. Your dog shit is also your shit. Bag it and dispose of it when you get home to your kennel. The man should have rubbed your nose in it as that will learn ya.

  6. I have no problem walking many kilometers without crossing a garbage can…..

but then again, I don’t own a dog. If I did, I certainly wouldn’t feel entitled to leave it’s waste around just because there wasn’t a convenient garbage around.

  7. OP obviously did not train her dog correctly. My dog doesn’t shit on walks because she shits within an hour of eating( pressure in, pressure out). It is easy enough to plan her meals and walks separately.

  8. Can people get fined for not picking up their dog’s pooh? I hope so. The entitlement of this OB is astonishing.

  9. Part of owning a dog is carrying little bags of poo. Doesn’t matter if you don’t FEEL like doing it. You just do it.

  10. Ughhhh, seriously? You think it’s cool to not pick up your dog’s shit? Fuck you, yah dick! Stop giving responsible dog owners a bad name.

  11. If you want to own a dog in HRM then you also sign up for the responsibilities, and that now includes hauling their ‘solid’ waste away. Granted we could use more public garbage cans, considering the amount of garbage dropped everywhere, but they are not made specifically for dog crap so using the lack of them as an excuse not to bag your pup’s poop and haul it home, or to a garbage can somewhere, is a cop out. You and in fact any local pet owner should become familiar with this By-law A-700. http://www.halifax.ca/legislation/bylaws/h…

  12. Pick your dogs shit up. Learn some goddamn responsibility and pick up after your fucking pet. Typical Millennial’s who buy a pet without knowing the patience and dedication it takes to care for a fucking animal. Don’t get pissed when people call you out for your incompetence and lack of responsibility kid.

  13. Op is an idiot who should not own a dog. If your not willing to clean up after your dog than do not take it out for walks in public. Tired of idiots like op who just leave dog poop sitting there cause the moron is too lazy to carry the mess the proper way and deal with the smell. Don’t own a dog if you can’t deal with that.

  14. “than to ditch a plastic bag because you have nowhere to dispose of it.”
And that, Sport, is why you are a moron.
They say it could be genetic so you may want to think twice about having any late-in-life kids.

  15. As gross and annoying as people who don’t pick up their dogs shit are, I will agree we have a crap supply of garbage cans and ashtrays around town
