*disclaimer* I am a dog owner who uses Point Pleasant Park daily
If you are dog owner and cannot follow some very basic simple rules/laws you should find somewhere else to spend time with your dog. Do not ruin the park’s dog friendly ways because you cannot A. clean up your dog’s shit or B. have them on leash for the very few areas this is required by law and punishable with a $222+ fine.
No excuses accepted, if you own a dog your responsibilities in the park are very few and not too trying. Respect everyone who uses the park and don’t be so disrespectful to the dog owners who do take the 15 seconds to clean up after their dog or keep them on leash for the few hundred yards stipulated as on lea

AGREED! A couple weeks ago I was out walking my dog in a park that stipulates ALL DOGS MUST BE ON LEASH. My dog was on a leash, but someone else’s dog wasn’t. Their dog took it upon itself to ATTACK my dog. Thankfully he came away unscathed, but very easily might not have (he is MUCH smaller than the attacking dog was). The stupid owners apologised, but not profusely enough, and I made sure to scold them for having their dog off leash in an on leash park.
Not to mention, if your dog is prone to attack it should be on leash regardless of where you are. I love dogs, but hate stupid dog owners.
Agreed! Just visiting beautiful Halifax and can not believe the amount of dog poop in Point Pleasant Park. Are all Halifax dog owners this negligent or lazy? Hope not.
