I was watching CTV NewsNet last night and I noted that one of the top 3 stories mentioned at the beginning of the broadcast was a lesbian marriage that took place on a popular soap-opera yesterday. Why is this important? Why does CTV news constantly seem to promote this garbage? Every time I hear such an item I immediately turn to another channel now. Call me a homophobe if you want, but know this….I do not fear what I point and laugh at….freaks

  1. So the people who are sleeping with 5 different lovers; the possessed; the incestual lovers; and the living child dolls, you’re ok with hearing about them on soap operas, but the gay marriages, that sends you scrambling for the remote?

  2. attitudes like that of the ‘proud breeder’ are the reason exposure such as that is needed for the LGBT community.
i hope the breeder has not succeeded yet, and maybe he/she will be perhaps nominated for a darwin award one day!
either that, or once all the homosexuals are ‘gone’, and all the other undersirables (if that is how the OP sees LGBT) are out of sight out of mind, and someone will come to take away the OP, he/she will realise that there is no one to protect him/her left.

  3. I don’t understand it; they’re clearly watching CTVNewsNet. Why don’t they change the channel? I don’t see the issue, if they’re disgusted by it, turn it off. Simple.

  4. I pity the children of “proud breader”, growing up knowing only fear and hate. I highly suspect Mr. Breeder is a little more “queer” than he might let on. Those who bash gay people are very often trying to deal with internal issues. Mr. Breeder has likely experienced only hate from his family and friends, and thus feels the need to degrade others in hopes of distancing himself from being labeled as gay.
Let’s all pray Mr. Breeder can love himself and others someday.
It’s the breeders that are ruining this planet with overpopulation. All too often they can’t care for these kids, or simply don’t want to. I say “cut their nuts off”, then let them have at it.
I feel sorry for you Mr. Breeder!

  5. I do not agree with the OP’S “freaks” comment, but what I do agree with is the liberal media practice of force-feeding us gay pride, and how great diversity is in Canada. I like to think we have some freedom of association here in Canada(which we are losing more of everyday) but for the OP; If you dont like what you see on t.v turn it off, if you dont like gays dont associate with them. But again it is hard to avoid this gay soap opera type crap on a left wing liberal media outlet.

  6. Kernalbob – I just pulled 5 of your comments across the site for calling people ‘fags’. Glad to hear you don’t think gays or lesbians are freaks. Very generous. You are on very thin ice. And CTV is a left-wing news outlet? Where are you getting your straight news from, buddy?

  7. CTV is left wing? Aren’t two former employees now Conservative Senators? Geez, that’s like saying Fox news is fair and balanced.

  8. Andy Murdoch…I agree with Kernalbob and if you try and tell me that you haven’t been frustrated and thought, atleast once that because of something someone or somepeople have done or said, that those bad thoughts such as “Fag” have slipped out. He shouldn’t have said them but it’s the past. If you really want to blame somebody for their past, maybe we should all be held on rascism charges for slavery that our ancenstors did or the fact that your daddy was an smoker and smoked around pregnant people even if though he knew it was bad.

Go fuck a hat and lay off the self righteous speech!!!!

  9. I’m always so surprised that there are still morons out there who think like this. It’s kind of funny because I was under the assumption that we were in the year 2009 and not stuck somewhere back a couple of decades ago.

  10. There are a thousand things on the news that aren’t worth mentioning, but we don’t plug our ears and sing while they’re on to avoid them.

The thing is that for the one gay marriage on that soap opera, there are hundreds of straight marriages. If we are all equal, you’d think that there would be gay people everywhere complaining everytime they talk about a straight marriage on TV. Instead they are just happy to see one gay marriage. It’s a milestone in terms of people being seen as equal regardless of sexuality. Because guess who watches soaps? Lots of conservative little old ladies. So lets get it in as ok in a form they understand.

So Proud Breeder, why don’t you rejoice about all the straight things they show on TV everyday, all the sex and romance and infidelity. Theres so much of it that you’d be too busy to even notice the one gay marriage they throw in.

  11. the question should be, “why is a news network reporting *anything* about a soap opera?” newsnet often gets confused with its ben mulroney cursed cousin, etalk.

  12. Kilo there is a huge difference between holding decendants of slave owners accountable for the actions of their ancestors, and questioning someone claiming to be ok with gay marriage for calling people fags in the past few months.

No matter how mad I am at someone I would never call them a fag, just like I wouldn’t call them a nigger.

  13. You might not call them that…or are you just trying to sound self-righteous. Because I don’t care who you are everybody has thought very bad and indecent thoughts about a group of people…..ie Fucking fat cunts.

  14. No, sir, I will not fuck a hat. To clarify — I can yank anyone off the site whose language I find objectionable because I am the – hof, hof, hof – web cop. Sure, we can all say things in the heat of the moment we regret. I appreciate that. And in bitchtown.ca, we let things slide more than on other parts of the Coast site. But – KB ‘let slip’ a bunch of objectionable posts in one short 24 hour period. Enough to make me think it wasn’t an accident but a provocation. I pulled the comments. I haven’t revoked kernalbob’s posting rights. He can continue posting. I want as open a site as possible. But when he starts sounding like the voice of reason around here, yeesh….

  15. Calling someone fat, who is fat, is not the same as thinking someone is stupid and calling them a fag. The only time I might call someone a fag would be if my boyfriend was caught cheating on me with another man. In which case it would be fitting. Otherwise it doesn’t cross my mind to call stupid people fags because I don’t associate being a homosexual with being stupid.

  16. hey OP…im sure there must be some sites around the internet where you can sign up and be part of an extended baldheaded, swastika wearing family.

i actually feel sorry for you. that you were raised and will raise your kids in such an ignorant manner is depressing.

  17. If you are fat you are fat, if you are stupid you are stupid. I am saying that the term “Fag” might have slipped out because of frustrations and not that homosexuals are stupid and why would you incinuate such a thing??? Are you stupid and trying to cover it up by bitching and making fun of other stupid people??? Are you a Stupiphobe??

  18. There have been maybe eight or nine billion straight weddings on soap operas, and (apparently) exactly one gay marriage. Gay people have good reason to stand up and proudly assert their identity in a normatively straight culture that either ignores, ridicules, or attacks them.

  19. Ugh… this is such a stupid thing to argue over, especially since you’re primarily arguing over the fact that a website has the right to remove hate speech (which they do, it’s not your website). Everyone has a right to free speech, but not when it infringes on someone right to live without being discriminated against. Secondly, it’s obvious that the OP doesn’t give two shits about whether or not that they’re being called homophobic, and I actually think that this is still the prevailing sentiment amongst the insolent redneck populace, which is approximately 45% of Nova Scotia’s population. Which is a scary thought, given the year in which we live.

  20. If you use “fag” accidentally in the same way that you would use “bitch” or jerkface” then it means that you expect people to be insulted when you call them that, even if it only “slips out in frustration”. That means that you think being a fag is something to be ashamed of, or bad in some way. Personally I don’t think that’s true, so when I’m frustrated or mad at someone, I never slip and call them a fag, but I might slip and call them a jerkface, because I DO want them to be insulted, and think that being a jerkface is bad.

  21. while i dont disagree with you in anyway Dr Fever, isnt calling them rednecks in itself wrong?

i mean dont they have the right to shoot 15 deer a season, have a loaded double barrel under the seat of their 1972 pickup with a confederate flag in the back window, have three shootin cars on blocks in their front yards, wear beer and ketchup stained wife beaters, and call the police pigs as they look at them with disdain and spit tobacco? and dont they also deserve to do this without discrimination?

  22. “Call me a homophobe if you want, but know this….I do not fear what I point and laugh at….freaks”

FYI- Recent studies have shown that more than 85% of homophobic people are mentally ill in that particular way due to repressed homosexual tendencies.

Breeder, just because you can reproduce, that doesn’t mean you should. Please do everyone a favor and use reliable birth control from now on…

  23. Your point is correct, I would say, and I hadn’t thought of it. However, When I’m calling them a redneck, I’m not being discriminatory. Sure, I’m being prejudiced which can be as just as bad, but I’m not spreading hate speech. They have every right to spit, be generally uncouth, but I don’t go around attempting to beat them up or going on a website as our “generous” OP has done and and calling them freaks.

  24. You(s) must admit that there is an incredible amount of LGBT on TV and the radio. I am glad that LGBT can be open. Nice that their rights are being recognized. It has taken a 180º turn. There is so much of LGBT out there now that it is getting to the point where it is being jammed down our throats, so to speak. Like religion was pushed on everyone. Same, it is good that you found God, but stop pushing it on me. I do not want to see or hear it. I’ll go to church if I want to. Same. You are LGBT, that’s nice now shut the fuck up. I do not want to see or hear it on every fucking channel, radio or TV. Enough is enough.

  25. Scott, what you don’t realise though, is that every show that isn’t obviously gay, is obviously straight, we just see it as normal because that’s what we’re used to. So everytime a gay guy has to see a straight couple on TV, or in the streets, or at work, he is thinking the same thing you are now. “I’m glad you’re in love but I don’t want to see that.”
