Yup – it’s WAY too easy to get a drivers license. If HRM drivers all had to take a proper test, at least half would fail. Many not because they can’t handle their car, but also because they don’t actually know the rules of the road. It’s maddening.

To the OP: I wouldn’t have made a point of saying that you looked up the plate number…what you referred to as the license number. Only cops and motor vehicles registry people, in general, are able to do that, and doing so for personal reasons is a big actionable boo-boo.
And it’s actually quite easy to figure out who has looked up a plate or license number in the motor vehicle registry. Before you start getting silly ideas of immunity you might want to consider that.
