Now that you two-wheeled tossers have us keeping one metre away from you on the road, how about you lot keep off the sidewalks and stop riding across pedestrian crossings? Especially at red traffic lights. In other words, start behaving responsibly and OBEY THE LAW! —Four Wheeler

  1. haha i had one dicksmack try to ride across a crosswalk on his bike and i drove right on though and made him stop…. and he looked at me all mad and i shouted “either obey the road signs or get off your bike asshole”

  2. I was at a 4 way stop and of course all the cars halted. I was truning right and it was my turn to go. Well a biker came riding up behind me and straight through the cross walk + stop sign just as I was about to turn. I could have killed him if I didn’t notice the racing helmet in my rear view. I nearly had a heart attack. Wasn’t mad so much as I couldn’t believe why they wouldn’t stop … how he/she could endanger themselves like that.

I respct bikers on the road and I expect the same from them.

  3. oh just fuck off please. I go through a 4-way twice a day, and yes I stop, if I didn’t I’d eventually get plowed. So, just shut the fuck up already. Odds are, considering the numbers, that there are more cocksuckers in cars than on bikes. Just do the math.

  4. You’re the odd exception, Cranks. I’ve seen less cyclists stop at crosswalks/intersections than I’ve seen that do. Sooner or later there’s going to be a tragic incident and I’ll be willing to bet that it’s the cyclist’s own fault.

I’m not wishing anything hateful or harmful but just saying it’s going to happen someday.

  5. … I believe that you do stop, but how many others don’t?
I’m not the perfect driver, and I’m not being acusatory, just stating that that day I felt my heart drop to my toes! I was about to turn someone into hamburger meat! Plus I’ve seen many a biker do this. Thing is when you’re riding a bike you have little to no protection vs the car … so I don’t understand some of the careless behaviours I see.

I could say the same about cars that don’t follow the rules of the road (’cause God knows there are some reh-tards out there) … but that’s NOT WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT.

    Don’t suffer from Suck-itis please.

  6. It’s just so tiring to constantly be reading it. Blah blah bikes don’t pay taxes…blah blah bikes cause accidents….blah blah blah…bikes do this bikes do that….

  7. I’ve had cyclists on the sidewalk almost knock me over on several occasions. The least they could do is go onto the road for 3 seconds until the pedestrian passes. I am seriously considering bodychecking the next cyclist I see right onto the road where they belong.

  8. If you actually pay attention to the details of Bill 93 it is designed to clarify the rights and obligations for both motorists and cyclists. Leaving aside all the anecdotes about bad drivers and bad cyclists, the point of this is to emphasize that we can share the road. Since most people seem reluctant to make the financial commitment to creating cycling infrastructure in this city I think this bill is actually a cheaper alternative. It is essentially “free” to change attitudes and simply accomodate everybody on the road (including pedestrians, of course). Let’s face it, the amount of time you might spend behind a cyclist waiting until it is safe to pass isn’t going to ruin your day. You’re more likely to end up spending that time at the next red light anyway.

  9. The thing that burns my biscuits is the outrageous fine – $800 plus – unless a driver makes a hood ornament out of a cyclist, why such a goddamn high fine? Another fucking tax grab – your greedy government at work.

  10. Everyone, chill! Yay for active transportation and cyclists getting off their butts and cleaning the air and making the peninsula LESS congested (taking up a lot less room). Motorists should be thanking cyclists for giving them more room. Everything should be done to get more people doing thusly. Commuting in and parking a car on the peninsula is a disaster. No wonder motorists are upset about EVERY LITTLE THING. Be in the moment, not speeding to get somewhere else; drive every inch as if a pedestrian or cyclist might dart out at any moment—slow down, sllllooooowwwww doooowwwwnnnn. Smell the roses. I like “Upper Canadian”‘s comment “You’re more likely to end up spending that time at the next red light anyway.”

  11. if they don’t, run them over o.p., that’ll learn those persnickity assholes, won’t it?

  12. aah yes , his three week tour akross the pond. the op said “you lot” too…sorry i’m profiling again

  13. “drive every inch as if a pedestrian or cyclist might dart out at any moment” my nerves would be SHOT!

  14. I have nothing against cyclists in general, as I see lots of smart ones using their arms to signal, wearing reflective material, stopping when necessary, etc. It’s just the arrogant jackasses that think they’re “sticking it to the man” or invincible and think they can go through red lights forever with no consequence that really bake my beans. Well guess what you cunty wanker, one day someone isn’t stopping and people will look back and shake their heads at the moron that tried to compete with fast moving steel behemoths.

  15. there are some streets in this city that are, during rush hour, impossible!!! to bike on. oxford street, summer street, jubilee and robie for a few. in cases where there isn’t even 2 feet let alone a metre to the curb, i have to bike on the sidewalk so i don’t get hurt, or damage a vehicle. so fuck off. when i’m on the sidewalk, i’ll walk my bike or be very careful of the right of pedestrians. i’m not risking my life so i dont have to say excuse me as i bike slowly down the sidewalk.

  16. A cyclist tried to weazel his between the car in front of me and my car yesterday to get to the other side of the street. I moved forward and blocked him and he went nuts. It was hillarious. Fucking bicycles. Give them their 1 meter and they’ll take a mile. Hope a few cars accidently back in or run over those bikes locked to poles near parking spots.

  17. I’m not saying cyclists never do dumb things.. but let me address a couple of comments..

Motorists are seemingly mad at us for crossing red lights.. if I do this it’s because I see I’m clear and I want to get ahead of the herd of cars. It’s safer for all of us, why are you mad? Because you think I’m cheating the system?

As for sidewalk riding.. if you’ve ever biked up Quinpool going towards Connaught, you’d know that 2/3 cars speed by and barely let you avoid the trees leaning into the street. Dangerous.

I’m also sick of being honked at crossing the big Robie intersection. I’m allowed to pass there, and I’m always quick about it.. so please grow up and stop trying to cause an accident because you can’t wait 5 extra seconds.

  18. That was after you asked him if he’d like to go out with you and he turned you down, seb.
