To all of those whiners out there with complaints similar to this one: “He/She did something right in front of me that I need to bitch about as an anonymous person”

DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! You were right there! You could have told the person to back off, for example: “Hey, that seat isn’t for you!”. It drives me nuts that people are soooo afraid to talk to one another that simple problems can no longer be resolved!

I’m not telling you to start a confrontation, be civil about it!!! There is nothing wrong with politely asking someone to correct a wrong! Now if they want to be a dick about it, then you can lay into them. —Annoyed

  1. annoyed, i do so totally agree with you. if someone causes some type of shit, then go to their face, not here to vent, where we can’t do fuck all, except to tell them they are stupid.

  2. Once again, this is primarily a Canadian thing I think. We’re generally a very passive people who don’t want to offend people or cause a confrontation. Personally, I choose my battles – if I see what I think is a pretty big injustice, I’ll speak up, but generally don’t sweat the small stuff (unless it’s recurring small stuff that builds up).

Also, it depends who you’re dealing with really. Would you seriously politely tell a bunch of Square-Rat gangstas to stop taking up three seats each or to give up their seat for an old lady, and risk getting dragged off the bus and beaten? I doubt many if any of you Internet Tough Guys would.

Basically, it comes down to using your discretion.

  3. I think the OP may be talking about the seat given up for someone in need and it was scoffed by an undeserving. Not sure, though. Either way, your right, a wrong, needs to be nipped in the bud at the source. There’s no point in bitching about something well after the fact.

  4. agree and dissagree. i’m perfectly able to keep things civil. but unfortunately. other people are fuckin maniacs now-a-days and you never know what your civility will be met with. people who can’t follow the simple rules of common sense or courtesy, i doubt can follow the rules of civility.

but yeah. i agree. people are very afraid now. i’m afraid to post this. even.

  5. Aren’t you doing the exact thing you’re complaining about. I understand that you can’t physically talk to the people on here that you don’t know personaly…but you coming on here and bitching about other people bitching…is the same as them coming on here and bitching and things that occured in their day? is it not?

  6. i agree umm.. j guy; people are wound up so tight these days yea look at em funny and they’re ready to pop; i don’t blame anyone not wanting to “do the right thing “

  7. juuustwondering, I believe the OP was talking directly to the people who post on here so he/she was actually doing it “to their faces” seeing this is where those people posted their complaints.

  8. I think the OP is missing the point of LTWWB…it’s for stupid petty bitching, is it not?

  9. I agree with Mod 4.0

    Awesome bitch.

The thing is with most people these days, if you’re polite they’ll be polite too. If they start freaking out at you, you just have to bark a little louder and they will back down almost immediately. There are very, very few people who would actually be a danger to you, especially in a very public setting like a bus.

  10. NW,
    tell that to greyhound….

I bet that’s what they thought a few months ago too.

    People be crazy…
