Do not Call (?)
So I’m not in the market for a cruise or any of the other inane products telemarketers call for, so a few months ago I submitted my phone number for the “do not call” register. Since then I no longer get calls every afternoon but I am still getting them!

Not everyone might be on the list, charities and etc. are still allowed to call you, and then there’s always the possibility that they might be scammers. Just tell them to place you on their internal do not call list and it should work.
“Registered charities are still allowed to call for donations, and certain other organizations-such as companies conducting polls or surveys, political parties, and newspapers looking for subscriptions-can also continue to contact you. As well, if you’ve done business with a company in the last 18 months, that company is considered to have a relationship with you and is allowed to call.”I still got calls from a bank that I no longer do business with, and told them to put me on their internal ‘do not call’ list. If the person calling is not exempt from calling you, then file a complaint with the registry.
I’d like to stop getting recorded calls that are all like “PLZ CONTACT US REGARDING YOUR ELIGIBILITY FOR LOWER INTEREST RATES THERE IS NO CURRENT PROBLEM WITH YOUR ACCOUNT BUT IF YOU DO NOT CONTACT US BLAEH BLAH BLAH.” Of course it’s probably a scammer. Friggin scammers. Scum of the earth.

There was a report on CTV about this a couple weeks back. Apparently peple are getting more calls than ever – the type that Mole Rat describes – once registering.
I haven’t registered and I’m still getting those calls about my “interest rate eligibility” every once in a while. People must be onto that scam because now they’re calling about my “car warranty”. It would help them if I owned a car.
