I cycle. I have cycled in cities with worse traffic in Halifax. But I drive as well as cycle and cyclists in Halifax who are out on the roads around the city at dusk or later with NO LIGHTS are DANGEROUS. I don’t care whether you can see where you’re going—that’s your problem. But if you cycle around the city at night wearing dark clothes with no lights, it is likely that sooner or later a car is going to hit you. I hope that it isn’t me! You speak the truth. They drive me up the wall. Widespread rampant idiocy abounds, alas.
Everyone: for all the hate you give cyclists, remember that we cyclists who actually obey the rules of the road loathe the idiots who don’t ten times more than you do.
That’s a lot of hate.
O.B. I don’t see why you’ve got a problem with those attempting to win a Darwin Award . Some people obviously have different goals than you do. I respect that & wish them well.
sorry, someone stole my lights off my bike the other day. didnt even take the mounting hardware just the lights. I’ll get some new ones today!!
I thought this was going tobe another hateful bitch about cyclists, instead it is very good bicycle safety advice.
People riding without lights are idiots.
all other vehicles have to have headlights on at night by law.
What makes bikes different?
They do! We nearly creamed some moron cruising down a highway off ramp dressed in all black no lights or helmet at 10 pm, barely saw him as we passed, luckily he was well off to the side!
not a death wish o.p., just plain fucking stupid or ignorant, to the fact that yes, they can die too.
