I have no problem spending 5 bucks for a coffee… I know it’s a lot and I could make it at home for a fraction of that, but I enjoy being out and sitting with friends and the coffee takes awhile to make. 5 bucks buys me 45 minutes of a relaxing time. But when I sit in the coffee shop, why can’t I have a ceramic cup? Is it so hard to wash ’em? You tout your coffee grounds for compost (love it!), but why not take it to the next level (the one that’s been standard for centuries) and use re-usuable mugs?

what’s disponsible mean?
Beat me too it Fat…
Timmy’s has ceramic cups if you ask, but I don’t think that’s the shop you’re talking about, based on the $5/cup statement… Maybe this place does too if you ask? I don’t know… I can’t stand their shit coffee anyways. It does taste like compost.
Disponsible = Disposable responsibility?
“It’s unpossible to take our disponsibility to provide ceramic cups lightly. We misunderestimated the demand and will unimplement our disposable cup policy”
If you’re referring to Starbucks, they have ceramic cups. You just need to ask for one when you’re ordering. I wish they better advertised that ceramic cups were available.
I’m with everyone else. If you want a ceramic cup, ask.
Some places train their employees to ask every customer, but some do not. It doesn’t hurt to ask if the establishment has reusable cups or plates if you want to eat in.
LOL@Miles. I heart you, dude.
The staff doesn’t ask you because they’re probably too busy (and it seems to take them 5 minutes to make those “fancy” coffees anyway).
Also, pouring it into a take-out cup runs no risk of having to remake it. If they assumed ceramic, and then you wanted it to go, they’d have to remake the order.
I’m not sure which coffee shop this would be… All the ones I’ve ever been to have the option of ceramic mugs..
At $5.00 it better be a big assed mug.
Can you ask for the mug to be pre-heated too?
I thought they just automatically put them in that sort of cup. Then again, I just order coffee flavoured coffee.
