Me too! It also sucks when you have a good pace going and a group of elderly people or a young family is walking slow and taking up the entire sidewalk so you can’t pass. One side of the street should be for fast walkers and the other side for slow walkers.
Some people walk slow for medical reasons.
Don’t worry OP, arthritis will get to them sooner or later and then you’ll have to cope with dawdling wheelchairs.
Wait till all the boomers start revving their scooters up and down Spring Garden at a leisurely .5 km per hour.
Some I know will boot down the sidewalk at 30kmh in their scooters/chairs and then the OP will be the fucking turtle.
Fuck fast walkers… I swagger or saunter down the street because I don’t give a shit and people can wait. I get great pleasure hearing a fast walker start huffing and puffing and getting frustrated when they are caught behind me.
I am the same way in my car…its even more hilarious to see all their irritation in my rear-view mirror.
I have no problem with people who walk slowly… I also like to enjoy walking at a leisurely pace from time to time, however people should be aware of others around them, just because you have the day off doesn’t mean everyone does.
OMG… get a coping skill, OP. We’re all just people. Ever try and ask somebody to move? We have a tradition here. Mumble the words, “excuse me” and you’ll have their full attention.
Let’s put this in perspective – the economic stimulus is costing trillions, the auto industry is in the crapper, the banks are screwing us all even more, the Premier is absent, Peter Kelly looks like Lord Voldemort, the harbour clean up machinery is useless and all we’re worried about is a slow walker?
Better a slow walker than a slow talker.
I suppose I COULD be considered a moderately slow walker….but it’s not my fault! my strides are fast, just not very big because I have little legs! I know people who walk slower, but damn, I have to walk twice as fast generally just to keep up and I’m STILL left behind most of the time 🙁 Don’t hate us all, OP!

you squeeze past em and say good riddance.
Slow walkers piss me off too, but I can usually breeze right past ’em.
You know what I HATE? Groups of (usually) girls, all linky-armed and giggling, 3 or 4 abreast, taking up the whole sidewalk, trailing their purse-carrying boyfriends in their wake. I REFUSE to move off the sidewalk. In fact, I square up my shoulders and smile to myself as I land a well placed shoulder-check. No walking in the mud/snow/dogshit for me!
