We all know the police and media report ALL crime in Halifax. Just like the police make public the statistics on which parts of the city are dangerous.
Actually I see this kind of crime reported in the newspaper all the time – usually about one inch of column space on page 10 – and even though it has been claimed repeatedly that “print is dead” I still think page 10 of the newspaper means it “made the news”.
This kind of thing usually doesn’t get reported on the all too brief local tv news segments because it would inevitably detract from the feel good happy talk ambiance maintained by the sports guy and the weather girl.

But common now…if you’re a young girl in this city you really need to take all precautions…stay in groups….don’t overdo-it on the drinks….and if this girl was drugged – then that nice couple who saved her on the street should have called 911 so they could have helped her and taken her to a hospital to have tests run to see if she was drugged. According to LTWWL, the couple took her to their house to sleep it off. So what probably happened is this girl got hammered ..left with some punk who thought he was getting a piece…and when the couple stumbled upon them they had to intervene because they couldn’t walk away in good conscious knowing that poor girl was probably loaded. I don’t think she was attacked walking on a dark street, it was probably some loser trying to take advantage of the situation, it’s still wrong either way!
