I thought Canada was french for Frisbee and yet apon arrival in your otherwise fantastic City, I find out that there is not a Disc Golf course to be found! (And that Canada is not french for frisbee)
I think someone from HRM should loose their job over this, or at least earn their company car by sorting this Shite out! (Or oot as you say here).—Surprised Thrower/Ultimateer

Crystal-meth?
Smack?
Play frisbee on the commons or on a field like a normal person. Why would you expect Halifax to be ahead of the curve or even up to date? We’re stuck in the 1950’s.
I agree, we’re always behind, but can’t you just use the easily available and multiple parks we have? We have so much grass to play on… use it!
say fucking what, dude you are a bit fucked.
Who the hell says ‘oot’? I don’t know any Canadians who say ‘oot’ or ‘aboot’ (about). It’s more of a Scottish inflection than Canadian, yet whenever someone wants to make fun of the way Canadians talk they tell us we say aboot or oot when WE know we don’t. Funny that!
Throw that Frisbee to me SO I CAN FIRE IT UP YOUR ASS. This is a hockey country mother fucker get out if you don’t like it
Oceanlady, you may not notice but the inflections are there. Not as exaggerated as others make it out to be. Also, you call it a Scottish inflection and last time I checked a good portion of the population here are of Scottish descent. I found it worse out west actually. Particularly in Saskatchewan
Frisbee golf course ? Just when you thought watching ordinary golf was bad, they come up with a lame ass sport like this ? Are you for real ? Atleast golf requires some talent and do they have sand traps or strings strung around the course as obstacles ?
Sure, we should have frisbee golf courses…and when the spectators get bored, they can whip out their socks and do sock puppet shows!! Can’t LOOSE (sic) out on something like that.
what kind of a club (or is it a stick) that one uses to play frisbee golf ?
Do you need more than one ?
Like a driver & a putter…or do you just give it a kick when your close to the hole ?
speaking of the hole…a golf ball is about 1/4 of the size of the hole, a player is trying to get it into…so if the hole for a frisbee is based on that math…that’s a pretty big hole !
You gotta be careful some kid doesn’t fall in tha when now frisbee golfers are around…I wonder if they use little sump pumps to pump out all the water after it rains ?
I also hear the the HRM is a bit lacking in the spontaneous puppet show department.
i think we should have a big game of red rover on the commons
Most Canadians say “a-boat” for the word “about” and Americans pronounce it “a-bowt.” Not many say “A-boot”
Same with “out.” Most of us Canadians say “oat” and Americans say “owt.” Hardly any Canadians say “oot”. I wish if they were going to make fun of us, they’d at least get it right. Yeesh.
Americans pick up on our about very easily I found, thus blowing our cover. As for disc golf, get a few people together and set something up on the commons or Point Pleasant or Seaview. If you build it, they will come.
wow pdg is that the littlest hobo, man that show made me cry everytime
There actually is a pretty lame one on the top of main street in Halifax behind the Driving range. It sucks but it’s better than nothing.
Yeah, a small portion of us actually have a bad hoser accent, and it’s mostly located in the Prairies, where there’s a heavy Native influence in the local language. In a large part of the Maritimes, we speak so quickly we hardly notice the heavy Irish and Scottish influences on our accent.
As far as other incorrect American pronunciations are concerned:
It’s ROOF (2 os make a OOOOO sound), not RUFF.
It’s ROUTE as in root, not R-OW-T.
And it’s CHOW-DER, not CHOW-DAH. Fuckin’ New Englanders.
Also, what’s up with the upward inflection at the end of every sentence? Like everything is a question?
Yes girl of pain, it is Canada’s favourite TV dog. The screen grab is from the opening credits circa 1979. We could use him around here with all the shootings going on.
If you are hot, male and like to play shirtless, you can come and play at my place.
Frisbee? Try the Commons. Oh wait, you can’t because it’s reserved for the stupid BEP.
I’m pretty sure most of you are missing the point. Every other major city in the country has at least one place for disc golf players to go and do their thing.. Its not the same as Ultimate; but requires a small investment in baskets that act as the “hole” for each length. The Commons are out as an option, because there are too many people around, they would get hit and hurt by the discs.
If every other major city in the country has a free and public course, why can’t Halifax?
I know disc dude why don’t you file a human rights commision complaint saying you’re being descrimanated against just for being a fucking idiot and you deserve special fucking idiot rights like everyone else; you’d win i’m sure 🙁
because it’s not a major city mr. disc
W O W Disc’r… Your new is really showing, if your going to use Major City & Halifax in the same sentence ! ! !
Hey Disc’r, maybe because it’s an obscure and idiotic “sport”? Kinda like there’s no hackey-sack fields?
