I smoked a pack a day for about 35 years and thought I’d never quit. I tried halfheartedly dozens and dozens of times with every product going. Then I tried the magic pill and I was free from the head fucking nicotine addiction in a couple of weeks! It was painless! Not to mention the fact that it was like getting a $4000 a year raise! Four Thousand Dollars A Year! I wish everyone could know how easy it was!
My husband quit before I did but was hooked on the gum for years! He quit that too with the magic pill!

how about people just TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for themselves and quit if it’s bad for them, or better yet CHOOSE not to start. Why does everyone need to be “parented” by the gov’t?

Think of how many convention centers, stadiums and WORKING poop processors the City could build if we didn’t have to pay for looking after these people’s health… They wouldn’t build an Oval cuz people enjoyed that.

ok I hate to ask one of those questions that forces people to actaully use their brains instead of spewing out crap that has always been told to them buuut…. smoking causes what? Cancer right? aaaand what percentage of Cancer medication/treatments are covered by provincial health plans??? Oh yeah NONE!!! There is no extra cost to the government for people smoking other than the usual hospital beds, doctors visits, etc. that is paid for by the government. And if we’re going to be going down that road let’s bash all the fatties out there too, cause there’s a whole lot more of them these days than smokers and they have a whole lot more health issues too! And cheeseburgers are NOT more addictive than heroine or cocaine.

From 1985 to 2000, 57,000 deaths in Canada were associated with overweight and obesity.
Just sayin’ If you want to outlaw smoking and take away OUR rights, you might as well outlaw eating too, because apparently being a fucking fatty is killing people more then cigarettes.
I wont fail to mention that your chances of dieing in a bowl of soup or higher then getting any second hand smoke related illness either.
If you have a problem with smoking, simply don’t fucking smoke. I don’t have a problem with fattys eating.
GGKid- my data was based on ONE year. Over 15 years the numbers are over 400 000 I imagine. But yeah, obesity is becoming more visible in HRM. When I wait outside WalMart it is shocking how many people can barely get between the poles.
