You might consider getting into screaming matches with each other every other day a sign that your relationship is unhealthy. You might also consider that slamming doors to punctuate your emotions is childish and disruptive to other tenants. If you insist in staying in a relationship that obviously makes you both miserable, please refrain from having outbursts between the hours of 11pm and 6am. –Sincerely, Your Tired & Frustrated Neighbour

  1. WTF? This isn’t a bitch. This is a neighbor that didn’t call the police and or land lord. OB is a pussy.

  2. I don’t know. I don’t like going to the land lord for noise complaints and definitely not the police (unless it’s REALLY bad). Going up and talking to them might be awkward as well. You still have to live in close proximity to these people. The best solution might be a CIVIL and POLITE anonymous note under their door. Maybe they’re unaware that they are being so loud and causing a disruption. If things don’t improve after that, next step would be the landlord. Calling the police for a noise complaint, unless 40 teenagers are drinking beer and blasting music, seems like a waste of everyone’s time.

  3. An anonymous note under the door works well. The tenants living above me at my old apartment kept playing the same shitty song over and over again, for hours on end. I wrote them a little note and slid it under their door asking “do you take requests”. The music stopped soon after.

  4. Wondering if this is in my old building/house where the couple who lived in the second apartment upstairs honestly sounded like they needed to break up a looooooong time ago. I got past the point of polite and civil notes under doors and just started yelling through the walls for them to keep it down because we had JUST gotten rid of a pair sadly worse than them and then they started up to fill the silence.
