For the love of all that is sacred, please stop advertising your Christmas crap in September. Including the post-holiday advertisements in January this equals four months of being bombarded with tinsel, trees and toys and all the trimmings. FOUR MONTHS! All other holidays come with a few WEEKS of ads and merch being shoved down our throats, but four fucking MONTHS? This may come as a shock to all you freaking cash-hound companies and corporations but consumers are more than aware that Christmas is coming and we WILL be shopping with or without the constant counterproductive four month long harrassment campaign. —Shove your jeezly jingle bells where the sun don’t shine.

  1. I don’t watch tv so I don’t see commercials and the stuff in stores I just ignore. meh. I can see how it would annoy some people but its pretty easy for me to avoid and I don’t feel any urge to buy anything because of it. ( we have had a no-present Christmas for years )

opt out op. everyone, just opt out if it bugs you.

  2. for half the working population next month is the 3 pay month. Most people use the extra pay for christmas shopping.

And you know what? You’re only bombarded by media as much as you want to be. If you don’t like it, tune out till you’re ready for it. I swear, some people never realize the control they have over their own lives…. Get a f-ing grip and stop expecting the world to cater to YOUR needs and start living in the real world!

  3. SEMANTIC CONFUSION

“For the love of all that’s sacred, please stop advertising your Christmas crap in September.” Shove your jeezly jingle bells where the sun don’t shine

: “sacred, a., Consecrated or held dear to a deity, dedicated or reserved or appropriated to some person or purpose; made holy by religious association; hallowed.” The Concise Oxford Dictionary

Clearly, an appeal to “all that’s sacred” will have minimal, if any, effect on advertising their Christmas crap in September. It’s a case of semantic confusion.

    A pleasure as always.

    Cheerio!

  4. Yay! An extra pay! It’s like getting a bonus for all of the hard work.

I don’t really notice the Christmas: I don’t watch shows when they’re televised and I rarely if ever go to the mall. I guess the only time I’m really exposed to it is in a grocery store, and they usually have it toned down a notch or two.

I truly, truly despise christmas anyway.

  5. My family and I decided three years ago to stop celebrating Christmas. Best three Christmases we ever had. While we still love the spirit of the holiday, we have a traditional dinner instead, inviting our friends who are on their own. I find this far more satisfying than worrying about how much debt I’ll be in come January. It’s time to break this ridiculous cycle of guilt and expensive presents.

  6. Grinch: an unpleasant person who spoils other people’s fun or enjoyment.

Grinch: a person or thing that spoils or dampens the pleasure of others.

Grinch: someone who tries to stop people enjoying themselves.

  7. Merry Merchants day …Happy Shopping…. I mean holidays ~;p

Remember there’s only 92 days left until Christmas …GET OUT TO THE MALLS & SPEND PEOPLE !

  8. I get personally offended when I see Halloween junk on sale during Labour Day weekend as it is a blatant insult to the good teamsters who bloodied their knuckles for that holiday. That is a true travesty, unlike when whiners complain about Christmas stuff being advertised before Remembrance Day. Our veterans fought hard so Santa would bring us Keurigs and gift cards.

  9. A COMPLEX COMMENT

First we learn that Mary thinks that it is a “true travesty” when she sees Halloween junk on sale during Labour Day since it is a blatant insult to the good teamsters who bloodied their knuckles (how, did they grip the steering wheel too hard?) to bring us that junk.

Next we learn that Mary thinks, unlike the “true travesty” in connection with that Halloween junk, that advertising Christmas stuff before Remembrance Day is not a true travesty since our veterans fought so hard so Santa would bring us “Keurigs” (Keurigs?) and gift cards.

Logically, Mary must then think that “Keurigs” (Keurigs?) and gift cards are not like that Halloween junk but have some intrinsic (but unannounced) value. On the other hand, Mary might be equating the junk on sale on Labour Day with the junk advertised on Remembrance Day. She might be thinking that the stuff on sale or being advertised on noth days is junk. Mary might just be pulling our leg. In any case, it’s a complex comment.

    A pleasure as always.

    Cheerio!
