I was too preoccupied with my usual activities, foraging for bamboo, et cetera, to notice when you ambled into the boundaries of my territory, and surprised and unused to such company, did my panda best to pretend I didn’t care. It’s not often that two of the species meet. In captivity, the panda is generally pretty lazy. Remember, a few years ago there was a plan for the use of panda pornography in zoos to stimulate reproduction?

Actually, I haven’t been on my email in the past day or so. I got your reply, shesang, but haven’t had a chance to reply. My allergies are all fucked up and the only thing that’s working is benedryl, which knocks me the fuck out the first couple days I take it. So I’ve been napping a lot.

Hey Troodon:) Ya know, Apocalypse Now is one of my all-time favorite flicks!! You and Ivan have been keeping me in smiles with your links and references;) My balance is not so great either (although i can give the tree pose a little bit of a go:)), but i have an excellent physiotherapist who taught me that a little practice will help improve things really fast (those big balance balls are awesome–i have a purple one!!) I can prob pass on a few simple balance exercises anytime you feel like you may have some time to come out for a surf–but your balance is prob already better than mine…I haven’t been out since last november:P
Troo, i have a 3 season wetsuit and 7mm booties and mitts (just picked up my mitts today!) I like to go about once per week (would go more if i had more time)…once per week is easy in the summer, as there are usually people out in the ocean, but it’s a bit of a crap-shoot in the winter unless you have a consistent surf buddy…i am very nervous of being in the ocean alone–more because of what the currents can do, as opposed to the presence of sea monsters and sharks!!;D
You have to be really aware of the conditions (weather and water), and the cond are not always predictable–last sat the surf was flat so the plan was postponed…i am hoping the group here might want to come out this coming sat am, weather and cond permitting–just hang on the beach, even, and have hot chocolate and ‘second breakfast’ afterwards;)…that being said, i sometimes have weekdays off and thus would occasionally be avail for an am or early pm surf through the week…so, if you are going to be in/close to the city and think you might have time to try a little fun in the surf, feel free to drop me an email (shesang@hotmail.ca) and if i am free i would be happy to make a plan for a little surfing (and point you in the dir of some good basic youtube vids for prep purposes):) I’d like to get out as much as possible this year, and it is super-fun introducing people to the sport!!
**The only time rental gear isn’t warm enough for winter surfing around here is usually jan and feb, so there is some time left to try, and then there is always the late winter, spring, and summer!!
