For the love of God, if you’re not using a laptop, don’t sit right next to the plugs! There are like six plugs in the entire room, and you clearly don’t need them. This is the only place in the whole building that has tables at the right height. I am sick of having to move all my shit and getting wrist cramps because you’re too inconsiderate to look where you’re sitting.

  1. Get a laptop external key board. There’s ones made of silicone, they roll up and as an added plus, they’re completely spill proof. They’ll run you about 50 bucks. It’s a solid investment.

  2. Maybe you could push dal to put more plugs in the learning commons? MSVU added a bunch of new plugs in its “laptop lounge” in the basement of the library when they realized “hey, we only have two plugs down here…not much of a laptop lounge with two plugs!”…worth a shot?

(or get a better laptop battery :P…my macbook lasts 4 hours on battery :P)

  3. Or you COULD bring your own personal extension cord from home (I’ve done it; you never know when it’ll come in handy). All you need is a basic one.

There is always asking politely if you could maybe switch spots or sit nearby. Its first come, first serve.

  4. Or you could possibly put your laptop on your lap. Or, like NGF said, “May I please sit there to use the outlet?”
