To the young woman in the blue shirt at the Clayton Park Sobeys Sunday afternoon: I saw you slap your toddler’s fingers as you stormed ahead during his temper tantrum. The child obviously was hungry or something was up. Why did you and your husband (boyfriend or whoever he was) continue to shop with a screaming toddler who’s shrinks were bothering everyone in the store. Could one of you not taken him outside to chill while the other finished getting the groceries? I’m sorry but witnessing you slap that poor child broke my heart. I hope karma is a bitch to you!! —a concerned parent

  1. Any sensible parent would have taken the child outside. Those type of parents seem to be a rare beast these days, Concerned.

  2. Yeah, as a parent myself, I would have taken the child out of the store. To walk around with a screaming child is rude to both the employees and the other shoppers when you have other options available. Common sense is just not common.

  3. Children imprint like mad. A parent who hits is also teaching that child: if I don’t like something, I’ll smack out in frustration.

  4. I find it ironic that you need a permit to own and drive a car or put an addition on your house. Yet, anyone who is physically capable can freely bring kids into the world.

  5. I find it ironic you`re suggesting the government should be licensing and policing biological functions. That`d end well….
