Hey Pizza lovers. It’s really hard to find your house at night when you use black numbers on dark colored siding or paint. I really really want to get your pie there hot and on time, but it’s so hard to do when I can’t easily see your house number. Oh and tell your neighbours the same thing. Because If i can see that there house is 37 then I know yours will be 39. ;)…. at the very least turn on your porch light. Oh and don’t forget to tip. I don’t deliver pizza because I WANT to work more than my 40 hours at my regular job. I do it because I have to. Just to put it into perspective. The company I work for pays us $8hr, and $1.50/delivery. Drivers usually average about 4 delivery’s an hour. I pay my own gas and put wear and tear on my own vehicle to bring you your food. So the $1.50 pretty much covers my gas and maybe some of the maintence costs. If you order $50 worth of food every week, I EXPECT a god damn tip (you know who you are). To those of you who really cant afford it I understand, but at least apologize for not tipping. Dont just hand the debit machine back to me and shut the door in my face as I tell you to enjoy the food that I so graciously risked my life to get there while it was still steaming hot. BTW if your order is $20.40 and you give me $21… the $0.60 is not a tip motherfucker dig a little deeper next time. —Ughh

Dear Dough Boy, you signed up to deliver pizza and should not expect us to supplement the wear and tear on your vehicle and the low wage you receive. For certain, those who do not tip can be offset by those who tip well. No need to get your salami in a knot.
I worte a Bitch about what deserves a good tip a long time ago……
You forgot to mention the delivery fee, then the debit fee, then of course you want a decent tip, too. Now it seems a twenty dollar pizza costs me 30 plus tip.
STAY IN SCHOOL!!
You should have stayed in school.

A pleasure as always.
Cheerio!
and thanks to this bitch i am going back to no tipping whatsoever. Congratulations
As a former emergency responder and now as a person who has to go to different residences in the evening, I wholeheartedly agree with this bitch. As a responder precious time is lost trying to get to an emergency when you can see address numbers, and depending on the type of emergency, lives can be lost. The rural community really helped things with the blue and white address numbers and they should be used everywhere. For those who say “What took them so long”, just look at where your house number is and its visibility.
There are lots of jobs aside from pizza delivery. Go get one.
Yeah, good job asshole. I was starting to slide and was tipping more out of habit than anything. Thanks for the reminder to only tip when appropriate and at a % proportionate to the level/quality of service provided.
Shit, a tipping bitch and it isn’t even summer when the kids get out of Robie Day Care and find out what ‘service industry’ means.
OP here. For those of you who wish to judge my measure of education and choice of employment. I wish to let you know that I am a college educated single father who does indeed have employment other than delivering pizza. However, due to circumstances beyond my control, I’ve had to take a second job to supplement my income. I CHOSE this particular job over a few other offers I’d received, due to the close proximity to my daytime office, the flexibility in regards to my schedule, and the potential of making more than minimum wage after gas and vehicle maintenance are factored in. Most part time employment offers I received were minimum wage offers. I am working 70 hours/week now to support my family. So I’ll let you continue to be the judge/jury and executioner, but please dont jump to conclusions before knowing the facts.
In regards to the Debit fee, this is the company’s directive to charge it, the driver has no control over that, Cash is an option.
2/3 of the delivery fees go to the business and is used to cover the drivers hourly rate, the driver does retain a portion of it, but if your house is 3-5 km away, that’s 6-10 km round trip, the drivers portion barely covers the gas.
I apologise if I’ve offended anyone. But in my opinion, there are certain situations where a tip is warranted. Delivery drivers are one of them.
And BTW…my Salami is almost straight. It’s a little crooked, but not knotted. 😉
You people are.stupid as fuck!!!! You don’t see a need to tip the guy who brings the food to your door cause you’re too fucking lazy to go get your own fat selves. Then you make fun of someone’s level of education and call them a bum cause you’re a bunch of ungrateful cheapass douchebags? You all are exactly what’s wrong with the world today, bunch of self absorbed, pretentious, assclowns!!!! Hope your pizza gets farted on and you feel important while you eat it and feed it to your children.
Would that have been an on-line college? What was your major?

If you delivered a pizza to my door with a smile I would tip you. I would also let you stand in my doorway if it was raining or extremely cold out, I’m a sweetheart like that. I just wanted to point out that there are several fee’s associated with delivery that when added up may discourage a healthy tip.
Also, this place is really good at jumping to conclusions.
Salami guy, a little crook in it can do wonders. Keep clear of the knots 🙂
You have to be a pretty big piece of shit not to tip delivery drivers! Especially when A LOT of places have free delivery over a certain amount.
That being said, a tip IS optional so it’s nice to at least hide the tip entitlement.
Anyway, best of luck to you, James. If you deliver to my place, I always tip. It’s a shitty job, but you’re doing what you have to to put food in your kids’ mouthes, a roof over their head and clothes on their backs.
Give me a fucking break. Dude plays the single dad trying to keep his family going card and all of a sudden the pity the poor supplements their earnings with tips pity parade is out in full swing.
Entitlement. You regulars are all over those assholes. What makes this so special?
Man I used to deliver back in my day. I always tip 10.00 no matter the order amount. If ya can’t afford to tip the driver you shouldnt be ordering food. If my food gets to my door, I tip!
ah, the old ‘if you can afford the food you can afford to tip.’
That tired chestnut never gets old.
Here’s a newsflash: Those who can afford to eat out, can afford to tip. Some just choose not to. Or not as much as you want/expect/need.
I think this is pretty fucking obvious, but I keep forgetting there are stupid people.
James dear, again – and I quote you – you “chose” this position. Now that you’re in it, you realize it doesn’t pay what you need/expected. Realize it was a mistake. Move on. Find another job. Simple.
I made it clear, Cranky, that the tip entitlement is lame, but it’s kind of shitty not to tip for good service.
Yes.
Tipping is voluntary, not mandatory. I will not go to a place where they put a tip on a bill.
“THERE YOU ARE MY GOOD MAN:” TIPPING (OR BEING TIPPED) AS A CLASS MARKER
A fundamental distinction has not yet been made, that between tipping (the tipper) and being tipped (the tipee). Being tipped is NEVER acceptable for professionals, whether nurses, doctors, teachers and so on. In fact, it is an insult. But why is it an insult?
It is an insult because people who are tipped are employed in the service industries. They are not professionals but rather, as the term “service” suggests, they are servants. It used to be the case that, upon receiving a tip, the servant would tug his forelock and say, “Thank you guv. Much obliged.” But now things are different. The shoe is on the other foot.
The class marker carries clear implications about tipping. While the servant class expects – no demands – a tip the professional is conflicted. He feels “cheap” if he doesn’t tip but there is no clear reason why he should. In Europe, of course, the tip is included in the price of the meal – “service compris” or “servizio compresso” – but not in North America. The consequence is middle class guilt.
I have succumbed to that guilt. I over-tip the barber or waitress serving breakfast $5 a time. I feel it is nice to do so, but am I simply assuaging my conscience? Am I doing the right thing?
A pleasure as always.
Cheerio!
Well when I order something dat spose to cost 15 doll hairs and it arrives and you say 29.95, you ain’t gettin no fuckin tip from me hunny. You can run and tell dat to your employer, you know dat guy who scratches his ass while he rollin out da pizza dough, tell him he be overcharging and he owe you a tip. Sorry, not sorry mafucka. Bitch gotta eat!
8 bucks an hour …I thought minimum wage was 10 something ?
$8hr? Minimum wage is $10.60. So, maybe bring that up with your boss.
Also, if they’re not covering the wear and tear on your car, you may want to find another job instead of subsidizing a successful company.
