Big shout out of thanks to the kind hearted and responsible homeowners who took the time to shovel their portion of the sidewalks this evening. There weren’t many but those that did it we certainly appreciated. Also, an equally big fuck you to Mosher and her fucked up idea to make Haligonians not responsible for shoveling their portion of the sidewalk and making it the responsibility of the lowest bidder. —Cranky

  1. I’ve spoken to many pedestrians who prefer the current policy over the past one due to noncompliance (homeowners not clearing sidewalks) and lack of enforcement. It’s shitty service versus no service. Hard to expect much more from an inept and cash-strapped regional council.

  2. An additional piece to the bitch is that council changed the time standards by which sidewalks had to be cleared and to the degree they must be clear… Now it’s 48 hours after a storm and a layer of snow is permitted. This means the nannies of Halifax must wait an additional day to get out for their prescriptions/doctor appointments and will have to transverse across icy sidewalks.

    Why is she still here?

  3. Can you imagine knowing have an appointment in TWO DAYS time and there is a storm tomorrow? Fuck me, what a shitty operation this place is.

  4. I didn’t find the previous policy lacking at all. I think only one person did, but lets not harp on that.

  5. A policy that allows citizens to sit on their asses and eat more fucking snack food while letting the city deal with snow removal further encourages our fat ass citizens to get fatter.
Halifax has a weight problem, and this policy only makes it worse.
