Today my boyfriend and I went into a dairy bar, one that we’ve spent quite a bit of money on in the past two months. We weren’t dressed the best, as we were just getting off work in the carpentry business, and because of that we were clearly deemed thieves, and asked to stand “right there” in front of the cashier while he served us our ice cream. Of course offended, we walked out without taking our ice cream, after we did our errands we returned to complain, and state the fact that we were good customers for some time now, and that he just lost our business, but with not two words out of our mouths we were asked to leave the store. I then called and asked when the manager was on duty so I could speak to him, he then responded “I am the manager” and hung up. This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a business, I am determined that the word gets out about how poorly treated you will be when going into this store. —The Judged

  1. I didn’t realize you needed to wear your Sunday best to get ice cream, good to know, but I’m confused if your such good customers wouldn’t the manager have reconized you regardless of what you were wearing, of course maybe the person on the phone wasn’t the manager and just didn’t want to deal with you. Lot’s more places to get ice cream, move on…

  2. What’s dis place rhyme wit so I can go there looking like a 4th degree squaw and see if I get big-wampum-expulsion.

  3. What were you supposed to steal? One of their scoops? Maybe a handful of Black Raspberry Cheesecake ice cream? Napkins? I need some sort of visual here.

  4. and did you put it in the bad review section of the coast. people would like to know what shit shops to avoid, i would.

  5. I know you aren’t talking about Jubillee Junction. Those guys are the greatest. Maybe Dairy Deli? Did this happen 15 years ago?

  6. think about it folks…its a dairy bar with lots of open containers of food items nearby the cash, not contained in a separate kitchen. OP said they were in the carpentry business. The owner likely noticed a plethora of sawdust and or similar materials clinging desperately to their clothing…hanging on by their little sawdust fingers. Still should be professional about it but perhaps wasnt sure how to broach the topic of “hey you are about to leave a dirt/dust trail all through my store and waft airborne materials all over the place. Perhaps you should the forethought to take the cones to go when you are in this state.”

  7. Most places that have open containers of food like ice cream shops (is that what a dairy bar is?) and certain sandwich places have sneeze guards which prevent any sort of wayward particles from customers’ bodies from getting in the food. The worker/manager sounds like a douche.

  8. As someone with an addiction that I have … ” suffered ??” with my whole life. I would like to know where this ice cream establishment is, so I never darken their doorstep even if they are the closest place with all the cold delights that my addiction craves !
There are too many friendly places with smiling poeple hoping to make a profit from ice cream peddling for me to go to some cranky fuck to get my next fix.

  9. carpenter discrimination on the rise!
this seems like a good topic for LEZLIE LOWE’s next article.
