To a certain super market: Put the freakin’ cheese with the freakin’ milk. They’re both dairy products. I had to buy two things:milk and cheese.

It took me 3 quarters of an hour, because the milk was on the other side of the store from the cheese. I missed House thanks to you! —Lactose Intolerant

  1. Unless you’re buying deli cheese, which is the premium stuff, the cheese is usually in the general vicinity of the milk, is it not? All refrigerated foods are generally kept together…or so I thought in most places.

  2. “It took you 45 minutes to cross the store?”

    QFE.

That’s what I was going to say, too. *blink*

  3. hey trinkster…i guess the biggest tragedy is that the op missed a tv show*sigh* but managed to purchase two items in 45 minutes. congrats

  4. Both U-obeys and Uberstore have cheese near the deli/bread section as well as the dairy product section. If you didn’t know that by now, either you have been relying on your parents too much for your grocery needs, or you lack the ability to communicate with store clerks and find out where things are located. Either way, you need to get out more and explore the real world.

  5. Last time I checked, most Sobeys were open 24 hrs (most not all). If House is that important to you, either wait for the show to be over then go out, or buy a damn PVR.

Better yet, since this time of year is re-run season, if you’re a fan of the show, I can probably place a safe bet that you already watched the show!!

  6. ummm yea; you know what if it took you like 45 minutes to find ANYTHING in a grocery store I’m afraid you’re probably mental; which isn’t a good thing

  7. Uh, OB – yer a tool. I’m pretty sure that I can cross any of the huge big box stores, glancing up each aisle until I find what I want, in less than 2 minutes. So what the fuck is your prob, dude?

    Lame-o.

Maybe we should send you a card: I’m so sorry for this traumatic time in your life. *sob*.

  8. I’m still in Cobourg ON. my mommy fell down and broke her hip 🙁 wtf is it with old people and broken hips?) so she just got out of the hospital yesterday so I’m gonna stay with them (fun’o’rama) till the aug. 21 and help out (job bye bye oh well it sucked anywho)

  9. you are a good son^^hip breaks are very common and i’m sure your folks need you more than any slop slinging joint does…ma’s rawk

  10. well I told them they better not piss me off cause I’ve got the “home” on the speed dial and there’s a lovely room just waiting for their arrival; I also threatened to wrap my mommy in bubble wrap just to be on the safe side 😉

  11. I hope your mom gets better soon martym. Kudos to you for putting family first; I really respect that.

  12. I think tapeworm started “Hey OP find this dairy item in the store” game.

Hey OP, now try and find Mascarpone cheese. Go!

P.S. martym, thanks for the graphic image you have imprinted in my head.

  13. sorry ntw sometimes my vulgar gene takes over;) mascarpone cheese = tira misu = gimme gimme yum (only a million calories per serving)

  14. martym, me and hubby make tiramisu from time to time, but we cheat and use lady fingers and Nestle chocolate mix powder. lol But it is really good, and we don’t care about the calories because we only live once.

  15. nothing wrong with using lady fingers; hmmm nestle choc. powder hmmm that’s a little idk sketchy methinks; as long as you use real expresso(some people use instant) real whipping cream (some people use like cool whip:( ) booze of SOME kind (I use Frangelico and grappa) than it’s acceptable

  16. We use real whipping cream (not heavy, but not half and half either), and Kahlua. The Nestle powder goes on top, and we use instant coffee (not espresso) for sponge because I get way too hyper and jittery from caffeine. I eat a piece or two of our Tiramisu and I’d be bouncing off the walls until next morning. I am not sure if Frangelico and Grappa come in small bottles? We don’t drink, so we always buy the mini bottles.

  17. frangelico no; grppa no (but it’s basically brandy) so yea but if you don’t drink (neither do I anymore which is a VERY good thing) and I was just kidding really bout the expresso who cares as long as it’s strong coffee really all’s fair in love and …. decadent italian desserts capice 🙂

  18. that just reminds of this dinner i catered once; there was guests who were former drinkers who kinda freaked on me cause I served a palate cleanser course of champagne sorbet which they claimed gave them a buzz … yea whatever 🙂

  19. I’m sure it wasn’t me, but I do get a buzz from a sip of wine. 😀 Cheap date I am….

Speaking of dates, they were just shooting up some pretty fireworks (I think for Natal Day)…would have made a nice date night downtown tonight in Halifax.

  20. yea really methinks you bring new meaning to the old adage…” candy’s dandy but liquor’s quicker” 🙂

  21. Unless you have a disability OP, I can’t possibly see it taking 45 minutes to buy two items, even if they are at opposite ends of the store. I mean I can go to the liquor store, and then go all the way to the other end of sobeys for my mix and still be out in 15 mins or less, and that includes standing in 2 lineups! PS, if you have a disability, I’m sure you could have asked an employee to help, often they will pick up items for you.
