So my great place of work decided to start a new way of micromanaging. Nothing new at a call centre, I will agree. Of all the weeks to start this bullshit process and asinine idea, why this week? also lol @ OP thinking anyone gives a crap about customer service week, especially call centre managers.
A call centre is a very predictable work envirement. No matter what the weather is outside, you will be sheltered. And, the customer on the other end of the phone can never spit, kiss or punch you.
The difference between a good day at a call centre and a bad day at a call centre is how you chose to feel about it.
Sure there will be days when you start happy and someone else sets you off and gets you into a bad mood. The skill that you need is the ability to turn your mood around and get back into the state that you want to be in.
Even if you work in a centre where everyone around is bitter, it is still your choice on how you want to feel about it.
Smile, it might be contagious.

OB, I think I know where you work…and I have to say, I agree 100% with you. The place is equivalent to a terminal disease. It (and the management) absolutely suck the life right out of you and they take glee in doing so.
My advice to you (and anyone else trapped in that shithole) is to GET OUT OF THERE ASAP! You are better than that place and deserve better. Don’t let it consume you. Just look at the amount of “lifers” they have and imagine yourself there. It’s terrifying.
