this is to the ignorant, rascist, moron cab driver who picked me up on my work route. I understand you have a lot of competition in your job, but using the term (forgive me everyone) “Sand-Nigger” repeatedly is NOT the way to get me on your side you fucking tool…i hope you drive off the face of a fucking cliff…

WTF is a “sand-nigger”?
That is probably one of the worst things I have heard about cab drivers here in HFX. Report the racist loser and make sure that the cab company knows that if he isn’t fired…you will be contacting the Police and the Human Rights Commission, that cabbie is guilty of Hate-Crime.
Quill,It’s a racist and derogatory term used by racists to describe anyone of Middle Eastern decent. Punch anyone you hear saying it, or any other racist comments, it’s about time that racists get theirs.

J, there isn’t a whole lot you can really do about the problem. That’s why it’s always been such a major concern. I’ll admit that there is no easy solution, but how can you honestly say that violence is the answer? Come on..is that what you’d teach your children? The driver might be an independent and not answerable to a company – however, I’m sure the taxi commission will take note of this horrible slur. Such people should not be working with the public.

Why are you all fighting when you all seem to think that racism needs to be confronted? Whether its a punch in the face (as tempting as it is) or trying to appeal to their logical side (if they even have one), its important that the people who are working toward a common goal don’t get caught up in attacking eachother. Maybe that’s why racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. continues to be so prevalant- everyone’s too caught up in their own agenda to make any real change. I’m small so resorting to violence isn’t an option for me- though I’ve been tempted. To say you aren’t tempted at times is being a hypocrite poop…. Come on, I’m sure there’s been someone at some time that you’d love to punch out. Maybe its just that racism doesn’t anger you as much as it angers Christopher. Lynn, I never said that the thought had never once crossed my mind. Sure, there have been times that I’ve felt like going there..who hasn’t? (I’m also small..but that has nothing to do with it not being an ‘option’, as you put it.) This is the silliest discussion I have had the pleasure of reading on here in quite some time. The issue in the bitch is calling someone derogatory terms based on the colour of their skin. This, obviously, is bad and a problem. But, in the discussion that followed, a couple of people have resorted to calling one another derogatory terms based on a matter of opinion. What’s the difference? You call someone stupid, shit-face, etc. because they don’t agree with you, or call them a name based on their race…both are simply the individuals being short sighted, narrow minded, and essentially closed.This seems to happen in oh-so-many of the discussions on here. It would be so nice if people could step back and see that they are just taking hate from one area and putting it in another. How many comments have I read, for instance, that call a poster a ‘retard’. In one breath, someone can denounce the word nigger, and in the same breath use a word that makes my developmentally delayed child feel like shit?

This is rather interesting…only moments ago I posted about people taking hate from one area and shifting it to another. I used the example of a person adamantly refuting the use of the word nigger in one breath, then turning around to calling someone retarded. What do I see a couple of posts away from mine? Someone using the word, ‘moron’ (a degrading terms originally used to refer to those with developmental delays). How can this even be? Selective advocacy for the abolition of derogatory terms?
Jim, If you read the posts you will see that I am clearly trying to put a stop to this. You will see the word “moron” was used in my post regarding a message further up from Poop…..I wasn’t calling anyone a moron……I was actually just defending myself from someone who is saying that I am sitting here masturbating and loving Star Trek…there is nothing wrong with people doing either of these things but why does she have to continue to make false judgements?
