My whole life, from the first memories I can recall sitting with my brothers watching hockey, playing street hockey, & cheering on our favorite teams, & more specifically our favorite players & the rivalry that we had is all over for me now.
You see, when the Billionairs got into a scrap with the millionairs over money & they shut down the NHL for a season. I realised what a complete waste of time, watching hockey really was. That it was in fact a system of placating the masses, similar to how the Roman Government used Gladiator Games to appease the masses of Rome. To get their minds diverted from bad,wasteful Government, over taxation & all their other short comings( Harper poroged Parliment, knowing the gullible would gravitate to the Olympics, and those who had the masses attention over his latest scandalous practises would lose it…he was right) Now it is readily apparent whenever I see American Sports on the news. Its the same scam.
So having a player come from our neck of the woods, be as good at the game as Crosby is, the gullible & those easily led, fall right into line & people allow their minds to be diverted from the Shit that is everyday life, to the hero worship that “one of us made it out”…or that’s my take on it .

Wow, jealousy is alive and well and lives in HRM. How can you people hate on a kid who has done nothing but good for his home province? Every pub/restaurant/etc. has some signed Crosby memorabilia. The local youth adore him. I was at Cole Hbr place last year to see a bantam game and was walking past the Sid display and I heard these 8 year old kids explain to these 4/5 year old kids who Crosby was, one of the coolest thing I’ve ever heard. Plus he’ll look great in a Montreal jersey when he becomes a UFA. Once again if you can’t say something good about someone, shut the fuck up.

Mind Snap- you’d be surprised at how many actually have won both the Stanley Cup and Olympic Gold. Now, as far as the same year is concerned, lemme think….. 2002 it was Canada. I know Yzerman and Shanahan played for both Detroit and Canada that year. 2006 was Sweden (winners were Carolina. No Swedes on the Hurricanes that year though. Of the members of the 2010 Canadian winners, Crosby (2008 Pittsburgh), Dan Boyle (2004 Tampa Bay), Marty Brodeur (1995, 2000, 2003 New Jersey), Fleury, Getzlaf, Niedermayer, Perry, Pronger and Staal all won the Stanley Cup before.
