To those fuckers who disobey traffic laws, and don’t let people with babies cross the road, like at Queen and Spring Garden. get a life. Or take a leaf out of the book of those on the West Coast – do it with manners as they will be on their next ride. They will be obeying traffic laws. I get the protest thing – congrats to you for standing up for what you believe in. But how about respecting the pedestrians and the rules of the road?

Pedestrians are pretty bad at this intersection too! Always crossing at red lights even though there’s cars coming towards their green lights. And only in Halifax will most of the cars STILL politely stop and wait for people to cross on a red light!
My experience at this intersection is just the opposite — as a driver you are at the mercy of banzai pedestrians who not only ignore “Don’t Walk” signs but often ignore the traffic signals as well. Not at all unusual to have a green light on Queen St and have to stand on the brakes at the intersection as a group of young clueless yahoos decides to cross against the light.
Getting sick of people talking about their babies and expecting the world to revolve around them…..

Wow,I didnt know people out west were so great. I guess we should all have a bit of western politeness. Oh wait, those are the same people who smashed into me in a crosswalk in Victoria BC 6 years ago, requiring surgery and physiotherapy. A-Holes are A-holes, east or west. I’ve read this bitch five times over and I still don’t understand the OP’s point. Who was stopping you from crossing the street? What do people out west do with manners on their next ride?? Who will be obeying traffic laws? Who’s protesting what? What do they believe in?

Uh, do you mean Vancouver? Where the police just recently told motorists to stay out the downtown during the critical mass? Because although it is not a “legal” bike ride, they didn’t want to have to go out and enforce any rules? That west coast? Yes, they’re SO much better out there.
Also, people who think that they’re entitled to special privileges just because they got knocked up are morons who need to get a life. Birthing a child is so simple even the dumbest teenage girls manage to figure out how to do it.
I cross this intersection at least twice a day…. never had any issues. Not sure what your beef is.
