MAYBE IM SPOILED, BUT I THINK THAT GOURMET FOOD IN HALIFAX HAS A LOT OF POTENTIAL, BUT THEY ARE SHITTING IT ALL AWAY WITH WHITE CREAM SAUCE…FUCK CREAM SAUCE

i’ll tellyou why everything has a cream sce in halifax; because when you don’t know/have time to do a proper sce just add whipping crm and voila you have a “gourmet ” acompaniment; sorry but 80% of cooks in halifax can’t cook (i know have worked in to & van);when you try to hire a red seal for like 12 bucks /hr you don’t get alot of takers or you gethigh turnover!
Too true, martym. I’m one of those “cooks” who doesn’t know how to cook, but I’m fine with that. I don’t want to be a cook forever. The wages and working conditions are shit. It’s fine for now, though.

yea q i’m not even slamm’n you it’s not like you apprenticed or were schooled in sce. making and don’t care; the problem is most people don’t want to spend all their disposable income on eating out so they won’t pay 30 bucks for an entree; but you have to charge that much if you want A cooks as labour costs are the #1 expense by far in a rest.

Yeah…EVERY dish comes with cream sauce. Try a Japanese or Chinese or Indian or Thai or Turkish or Mexican place. I doubt you’ll have the same (perceived) problem. Oh, wait. You’ll have to endure salsa and soy sauce and raita and limes. Whatever will you do? Poor baby. ASK FOR WITHOUT!
