I can’t wait until the AC/DC concert is OVER! Maybe then a certain local rock radio station will play something other than AC/DC! First it was Paul McCartney. Then it was KISS. Then it was Chickenfoot. Now it’s AC/DC every other song! I can’t take it anymore and I really wish this city had an alternative music station.

Halifax radio is balls. My solution at work was to use the internet to find good radio. If you can’t do that, an MP3 player is your next best bet.

OMG. Chickenfoot is garbage. I’ve given up on the radio…but if you have the internet available Pandora is a good listen.

q-104 used to be a decent station,a very long time ago,but lately it really sucks.i just can’t stand hearing all that other crap either.there otta be a law.
i agree the q is really sucking big c**k lately. And since i would rather slit my wrists then listen the bounce or any of that garbage, i will stick to sateliite and internet radio
Dr Fever, sorry but Chickenfoot sucks bad. Yes, Satriani is technically one of the best guitarists, but technical prowess does not always a great guitarist make. Case in point, Stevie Ray Vaughan. SRV is also one of the best guitarists ever and is so because when he played you could feel every note chill your spine. Satriani doesn’t have that soul. He can play a thousand notes a minute. Big deal.
I’d argue Satriani’s “soul” inspired a whole generation of shredders and popularized a completely new genre. Listen to how much noise there is between each of those thousand notes. Notice the ‘junk’ on his guitar is minimal and favors a clean sound. I’d like to hear you play two chords in a row and maintain a “clean soul” let alone an audience. So, with all due respect BRoc, STFU and LISTEN.

Q104 needs a good ol’ 2 x 4 with a nail in it to smarten up their fucking awful format. I’d rather swallow a table lamp sideways than listen to the weary old excrement of their airwaves.
It’s pretty sad when Truro has a (slightly) better radio station than Halifax. The Q sucks donkey, Hal is garbage. I can only stand CBC for so long…I’d rather listen to traffic and the wind than the crap that passes for radio here.
I grew up in Truro…..and Q 104 is a far better station than Truro’s big dog 100.9… Hal fm is an even better station for variety compared to the both of those stations. As for Chickenfoot…they did an awesome job on the hill last weekend, they were all pretty tight…. dont be hatin on chickenfoot because chad smith is a detroit fan and essentially explained in a vulgar way that without him, the penguins wouldnt have made it that far. I myself am a fan of Sid and the accomplishments he has made, and I was in no way offended by what was said….sounds more like a challenge for next season perhapse.

XM Radio’s Alt-Nation saved my life. Get satellite radio, you’ll love it and it’s worth every penny.
Gotta say though, after living in Eastern Cape Breton and moving to Halifax, I was amazed at the “selection” on the radio. Mind you, now I would rather eat nails, than listen to the crap spewed out on the stations. And, not just here in Halifax, I find most radio stations the same. Long live my mp3 player!
I submitted this bitch yesterday at about 4:50pm, while listening to AC/DC on the Q on my computer at work for the hundreth time that day. After posting I thought, well maybe I’m being a liitle hard on them.
NOPE!
During my 30 minute drive home I heard AC/DC 3 more times! And my trip included a 10 minute stop at the grocery store so I may have missed one. And one of the only non-AC/DC songs was fucking Chickenfoot!
The stations have to overplay those concerts songs in return for free concert tickets for the staff at the station. That’s why they torture listeners with the overplay.
AGREED i like AC/DC but you can only handel so much of it they play the same songs over and!

I can’t even tune in the Q in the mornings. Whatever that Garbage is, I want ROCK not TALK on my morning commute. some of the other stations are attempting to be just as annoying with multiple DJ’s vying for air time -fuck off- & play some music dammit…. thankfully I have a multi disc CD player in my truck !
