  1. Welcome to the wonderful world of job hunting!I’ve been going through this crap for the past 8 months. I totally feel your pain, OP. There are A LOT of unprofessional assbags doing the hiring these days. It’s very frustrating 🙁

  2. That seems to be the way it is done these days, after not hearing anything one week after your interview usually means you didnt get the job. If it is a unionized job they will email you or send a letter explaining why you didnt get it and tell you how you could improve in your interview in case the job came up again.

  3. OR if it’s a federal gov’t position they’ll tell you you weren’t considered because you weren’t bilingual despite offering it to someone you know who isn’t bilingual either! YAY!

  4. Some people who are foreign tell employers of unionized jobs that they have experience from their own country and they get hired without the employer checking out their references. I know of one superviser who hired who was in love with an employee and moved him right up the ladder within a year even though other staff with more senority were qualified.

  5. As a manager who did a lot of hiring int he past, it was instilled in me very early on from MY bosses that any time I interview someone and decide not to hire them, it was REQUIRED that in the very least I send them an email informing them of my decision. In many cases, without getting into operational business matters, I would offer feed back on the interview and what I was looking for and what I felt was impresive about my experience with them. Come on, interviewing is two sided. As an interviewer, I deserve some respect for offering you the chance to work for my company but I also owe you a lot of respect for giving me your time to come meet me. Not to toot my own horn, but I think a lot of managers could learn from this type of practice.

  6. If you say you are going to contact some one, contact them, either way. If you are not going to contact them, say nothing about contacting them. Why do they even say anything if they have no intention of contacting them. Useless Tools.
