On December 31st approximately 9:30am I saw a young woman walking with her German Shepherd dog on Forest Hills Parkway in Cole Harbour, and she was very rough with the dog. Not giving him enough time to do his business and yanking the leash extremely hard, holding him very very close to her and if he’d even turned his head she’d yank him hard. I have see this woman before being rough and abusive to this dog; and if I knew her name or where she lived I would report her. I’d like to tell her to get some anger managment counselling and stop taking her anger out on that beautiful dog. If you have issues deal with them don’t take them out on others. And if you must take your anger out on someone take it out on yourself you bitch. —Watcher

That’s too bad.. There are many ways to show dominance without being a total bitch about it. In fact, there is no dominance in anger. None whatsoever.
you know what you should do?? Next time you spot her, follow her awhile and when she’s relatively calm, walk up to her and feign recognition “Haven’t i seen you somewhere before….?” and coax her name out of her. then report her ass.
Unfortunately lots of dog owners are angry when they think they are teaching the pups. Whip out your cell, get her on video and like kramer said: report her ass

I have my dog walk close to me because if not, he will pull in any direction he wants. Sometimes, when he wants to stop and piss at every single pole we walk by, I pull his leash and make him continue walking after the 5th stop in less than 30 seconds.
I hope OB doesn’t drive by and think that I’m being cruel to my beloved dog. *eyeroll*
I also only feed my dog twice a day and if he takes my spot on the couch, *sometimes* I make him move so I can sit there. *Someone call the cops, Naveed is abusing her dog*
Naveed, i don’t own any dogs specifically but i do walk my sister’s beagle on occasion. And yes. There are times (especially with a beagle) where you have to get a little forceful. But it sounds like this is the default state for this dog owner.. always frustrated and short tempered with her pet.. and that’s what concerned me. Not that she had to yank her dog a few times.
Plus.. there is a tone of voice that resonates with dogs. And if you train your dog well, using that voice will be enough (sometimes at least..) to give the dog the general idea that “if you fuck with me, you’re in trouble buddy…” and the dog will likely respond to vocal commands effectively. Again, i haven’t owned a dog in years so correct me if i’m wrong but i have cultivated that tone with the dogs i know and am around regularly and it seems to work. Dogs want to please their owners. They’re not like cats.. reclusive roommates who poop in your shoes if you don’t spoil them rotten. 🙂
I see nothing abusive. The road has a high volume of traffic so keeping the dog on a short leash is smart. As for not giving the dog enough time to do its business could be curbing it from marking its territory as many dogs do. Not knowing the age of the dog is also a factor as it could be young and learning. As usual people will see a partial picture and assume the worst.
When I hear the wprd “abuse”, I require some evidence other than a glance. It’s kind of a serious accusation there, Cesaer Milan OB.

On a side note, when I read the title “Controlling Abusive Woman”, I thought it might be about somebody who has their man on a leash.
as a 1 time owner and breeder of canines, i can honestly say. that some of you don’t know shit all about dogs or their behavior.a dog learns from puppyhood, that there are certain things they can and should not do.while you may think owner was being abusive, you ould be totally wrong here. dogs, young or old, have an inborn streak that says they must mark out a territory, and as such, will try very hard to do that. when you walk your animal, yes, keep it on a short leash. or it could take a bite out of another dog or person.
while not all dogs give the same obedience to you, some of the more larger breeds will. i have had dogs as old as 9 years old, that didn’t even know the word,” heel”. so, to all you experts out there, learn to control your lips, before making the fucking comments.

NEVER had to treat my dogs harshly, and if you deal with canines and you agree its okay, well i aint buyin no dogs from you…… I had 5 dogs growing up and we never hurt them or shoved them or yanked their necks…. and they listened good… i just would bat them on the nose lightly with a finger and pinch their butt and say bad puppy… and honestly, theyw ere the nicest dogs in the world, sure you shove em off the couch and shit when their on it, but you dont yank it, choking it, because think about it, it hurts when your being CHOKED doesnt it? and we wouldnt like it, would we?
