Your dog was big and scary. Your dog ripped a stick out of my 4 foot tall boy’s hand. Dogs do that. It’s part of their nature to play with sticks. I know we were in an off-leash part of the park…but it’s a people park too…not just a “dog” park, lady. If my kid stole your dog’s stick then I would get the stick back for you. Off leash is for well behaved dogs…not the dogs that gallop up to a kid, scare them then take their stick. I have no problem with off leash dogs…I have great difficulty with owners of dogs who are not safe when left off leash. It’s not ok to steal sticks, jump on people, rub muddy paws on stangers, lick strange baby’s faces, shake harbour water on strangers or steal picnic food . If your dog does these things on a regular basis then please put them on a leash around temptation. If they are the type to listen, then this bitch isn’t meant for you… and lady when you started yelling to strangers that I was crazy and I wanted all the dogs in the park on a leash, well it just made you look like the crazy Bitch! —Crazy Mom

  1. See, I don’t agree with you. Dogs will PLAY. Maybe you should have had your kid on a leash instead. This area is for dog owners and doggies to enjoy. There arent very many places this is allowed. Grabbed a stick or shaking water is normal. If the dog bit your child, then I would be more sympathetic to your plight. I think at this point you are literally the crazy bitch-er.

  2. It’s an off-leash park. If you are concerned about a dog coming up to your kid, then don’t take your kid to an off-leash park. The only crazy bitch here is you OB.

  3. With all the ‘on leash’ areas and areas people can’t let their dogs roam and play freely, you have no right to bitch about the consequences of having your kid at an off leash part of a dog park.

That’s like hanging out in one of those smoking rooms bars used to have, then bitching about the smoke.

Oh hay — I wonder if this is our friend Survivor, guys?

    Pay your water bill yet?

  4. *off leash part of the park* perhaps your 4 foot tall child could learn to play with dogs and not be scared

  5. It’ll be ok, OP; hopefully your poor, traumatized child will recover from the stick-stealing incident one day, after lots of therapy! I can’t imagine a child experiencing something so horrible as a dog stealing his or her stick! The dog must have major behaviourial issues to do such a thing!!!!!!’

  6. It’s long past time for the Government to stand up to the all-powerful Stick Lobby. What does the average dog need with a deciduous style branch, with high bud capacity. How many more children have to suffer because we lack effective stick control?

  7. Op, I don’t understand why you would take your child to an off-leash area. You should have foreseen the possibility of something like that happening and that your child wasn’t ready for it. They’re dogs in an off-leash area, not turtles crawling in an aquarium. While you should be able to enter the area with the expectation of not being bitten, anything more isnt very realistic. iEven the smart ones can only be trained so far; and if they’re having fun frolicking with other dogs, they aren’t going to be paying so much attention to anything else. To expect a dog to know better than to shake water off his body, grab a stick, or anything else is ridiculous.

  8. You’re having a picnic in an off-leash dog park? You are crazy there Mom. As well, if your four y.o. child is flailing a stick, again in an off leash dog park, what are the odds that some dog is going to try and grab it? I’d say pretty good, it’s part of their play. The dogs are there to run and play not to sit pretty.
Consider this a learning experience Mom.

  9. My kids are a little older…but dogs fear them haha. They have all kinds of love to give. Mad, crazy-grinned, sticky hand love.

  10. op, just think for a minute about the harm you are doing to your own child by your reaction to this. what an opportunity you squandered to teach your child some dog skills. what a damn fool you are, and bordering on BAD mommy.

  11. Why don’t you buy your kid some toys so it won’t have to play with sticks. Then take it to a playground to play with other children instead of the DOG PARK, you entightled twat!!! Given the fact that there are few spaces in this city where dogs can be off leash, go somewhere fucking else. I don’t understand why someone would take their child to a dog park and complain when a dog wants to play with their kid. Maybe next time you can take your precious to the air show and complain about the noise hurting it’s delicate ears.

  12. Not at all Ossifer Tim. Coniferous branches have a long and dignified history in this country. Even a spiritual element amongst our First Immigrants
I just believe that unless your dog is a carpenter, building contractor, floor installer, or farmer’s market craftsperson, he has no business playing with military grade hardwood. Is that so unreasonable in this day and age?

  13. HEY!!!!! Quit picking on the OP. At least she takes her kid out and throws a stick for it. Better than video games.

  14. Bolt was pretty good …I really like rhino !
And his ancestory isn’t all hampster , he’s
1/16th wolf with a dose of wolverine in there somewhere ~;)
    lol

  15. She knew it was an off leash part of the park, so what? She said her child was 4 feet tall, not 4 years old, so what? She should be able to walk with her child anywhere without the fear of being assaulted by man or beast. The dog owner should have control over their dog when not on a leash, period. I have noticed over the past few decades how people are now treating their dogs as humans and screwing up these poor animals to no end, with the result of fucking up their pets so that they don’t know how to act because they don’t know they are dogs and not human. I’ve seen a dog sucking on a blanket because it was so fucked up and not getting the right kind of attention it needed and deserved. Well intentioned people are unwittingly harming their dogs to a screwed up life of disorders. SHITD in case you did not see the comment I posted a while ago, I am now calling you Sargeant Shultz because you know NOTHING, NOTHING. Dumb fuck.

  16. Yeah, Wheels… cause taking your dog to a dog park and letting it be socialized with other dogs and humans (their owners and other dog friendly people) is just a stupid way to treat a dog. What kind of an idiot would think that is a good idea? Maybe it would be a better idea to tie them to a post in the back yard, feed them kittens, and kick them for thinking they are wanted. If the kid was 4 feet tall, it should be able to tell a 2 foot tall dog to stay away, or does mommy coddle little precious too much. Maybe you should stick to what you know, Wheels. You know, being an entightled, union slug.

  17. yup pg, kids should get knocked over by dogs, slobbered on by dogs, a few scratches by kittens to teach them to be gentle, kids should eat a little dirt. should be active enough to get a scraped knee once in a while and should definitely be told ‘go find something to do’ when they announce ‘i’m bored!’ instead of hover-mommy rushing around to organize something. i saw a commercial once for a packaged pre-made blanket fort for gods sake. the kids cannot figure out how to drape a sheet from the cupboard over the back of a couple of chairs???

  18. I was on the fence on this bitch until i read her reaction. if she’s that fucking far off the wall then chances are her dog is too. Dogs are smart and they’re just like kids. They pick up on behaviour from the people they consider to be their leaders. Her dog and her kids are probably all deranged psychos if she behaves like this in public.

  19. OK……Dog Park…….Dog’s play with sticks. Most dogs will go after a stick that someone is holding……IT’S HOW THEY PLAY!!!!!!!!! If you are holding a stick….the dog is waiting for you to throw it…..if you don’t throw it, dog logic dictates that he must take it in an attempt to get you to play.
SO……..anyone holding a stick in a dog park is pretty much fair game.
WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU LET YOUR CHILD WALK AROUND WITH A STICK IN A DOG PARK.

Perhaps it’s YOU Crazy Mom that needs to be trained and socialized……..Or at least take a course on common sense.

  20. Why do you people insist on owning dogs when you live in the CITY? Especially big-ass dogs.

If the only exercise and freedom-to-roam your dog gets is the urine-soaked and dog-shit minefield that is Point Pleasant Park, than you are abusing the animal by owning it.

City dwellers should stick with goldfish, cats and alligators in the sewers…

  21. Even in an off-leash area, dog owners are required to ensure that the dog is under control (the dog should obey commands when given them, for example.) Some dogs can’t be let off-leash at all – bitches in heat and puppies under a certain age, for example.

If the dog had bitten the child, the owner would have been liable. It’s not a free-for-all for Fido; that park remains for everyone and the off-leash area is not for the dogs alone. Some dog owners have a serious persecution complex and the owner’s response was neither reasonable nor appropriate.

  22. of course the owner would have been responsible if the dog bit the child, but he didn’t. and he didn’t knock him down, or jump on him or push him or even jump up on him. the dog took a stick out of his hand.
we have only op’s description of the dog owner’s response, and i would hardly think it’s without bias. anyone posting their own side of things will put themselves in the best light, and the other in the worst, even if they stick to the facts. so when reading these things, you make judgement based on what op said about themselves. because if they cannot gain sympathy for their situation, even when presented in their best attempt, their case ‘stinks’.
