Can anyone tell me why hearing impaired people are not welcome in Halifax. I have been made fun of, refused service and laughed at by the staff when I ask them to speak up a bit.

Wow, that’s pretty insensitive of them. However, was it clear to them that you were hearing impaired? I used to get a lot of people who would bark at me rudely to speak up when I thought I was speaking at a normal level, but they weren’t hearing impaired. I’d like to think that nobody would be so ridiculous as to laugh at a hearing impaired person if they understood what was really going on.
I think that maybe the people that treat others with disabilities of any sort in that fashion are useless retards themselves.. You know the type, they are filled with so much low self esteem that they can only function when they make other people feel shitty.
maybe it has nothing to do with your hearing impairment. maybe these individuals are just ignorant asses over a wide spectrum of society and you percieve it to be because of your impairment? just a possibility
