To all you cocksuckers who bought tickets to the first show (leaving us legitimate buyers in the cold minutes after they went on sale) then posting tickets at an inflated price for sale THAT DAY on Kijiji…..I sincererely hope you get stuck with your handfuls of tickets after a second show was announced! I got my tickets from the boxoffice when they went on sale the second time around…. —Go Fuck Yourselves !!!
This article appears in Mar 14-20, 2013.

Now, they are charging more because they suck cock …. that is an added value tax for those who purchase the tickets for the first show …. you, no blow!
A newly adopted Grade 12 history text states that Governor Edward Cornwallis was reponsible for introducing the reprehensilble practice of “ticket scalping” in an effort to subjugate indigenous musicians.
And still we name schools after him!
Harrumph – I’m outraged.
Where’s my ticket Ricky?
You fuckin’ promised me a ticket.
This could effect our friendship, ya know.
I was kinda miffed when checking kijiji yesterday for tickets too…
2, 3, 400 bucks for tickets seems a little much to see Rush. It’d take a Big Four concert to get me in that range… and that’ll never happen anywhere near here.
For Rush, I’d expect VIP treatment for that.
Even the Moosehead playoff ticket prices are 2 and 3 times what they cost.
Funny thing is Ticket Master takes advantage of us and then we turn around and do it to ourselves… face palm
Hey there are idiots who will stand in line for tickets, IPods, etc and those of us who laugh at them because it doesn’t matter because we can buy an article at a different time or listen to our bands in the comfort of our own homes.
It would be a shame if some of these ticket scalpers got robbed by potential customers.
I can’t even imagine paying face value for Rush tickets, and I was part of the “Rush to Halifax” love in put on by Q104 back in ’84 or whenever that was. Mini-gettogether by dal. I think theres a building on the vacant lot we used.
o.p., i have seen scalpers get burned more than once, and i loved every fucking second of hearing them whine about it. the more they pay, the more they lose. and this sale thing, will go on as long as there are greedy people out there. and of course, the suckers that buy this shit.
how dare you buy something when it becomes available!?
Buuutt seriously.. Yeah scalping sucks. I don’t disagree with you. But i’d rather buy a shitty ass seat or enter any fool contest on the radio than not go at all.
I was listening to Q104 the other day, they were talking about show #2. Their thoughts were when a big ticket concert is coming to town the box office should be open first to the people standing in line, then wait an hour before taking the online/phone-in ticket orders. I thought that sounded fair. If you want tickets that bad, nothing like camping out like we did in the good ole days! Scalpers suck! I hope they lose out in this! Bastards!
Eh, I don’t necessarily think those camping out should get first crack… especially when you can’t physically stay in line OR when you want to go to a concert in a different city.
Perhaps splitting up inventory would work better… have a certain amount for online purchasers and a certain amount for box office (if this doesn’t happen already).
Maybe you’re pissed because YOU didn’t get to do it first?! Huh?! Huh?!
gotta slightly disagree with ya kitty…
If the band came to halifax, I would think the people of halifax should get first crack…
unless you want to haul your ass here (or find someone else) to wait in line with the rest of us.
I also REALLY like the 1 hour pause time.
I remember being like 8th or 9th in line before and with less ticket windows and tons of internet connections, I wasn’t anywhere near where I thought I’d be being in the top 10 waiting out in the cold. I didn’t even get the front 3 sections… it was ridiculous. Then buddy’s computer fucked up and somehow gave my seats away so he checked the next pair and I was in lower bowl.
That’s bullshit for waiting hours outside in line and only being on sale for 10 minutes.
Needless to say, I was quite livid.
Sodey what are you doing using a toilet seat as an avatar?
Wow, Woggie. You are so angry that you did this.
You’re the most bitter poster on the board.
p
pssshhh whatever.. There’s no law against it! If someone can make money doing it because there is a market of potential customers who were too lazy or busy or whatever to get there on time to buy the ticket at the regular price, I don’t see anything wrong or immoral about it whatsoever! I guess people who buy property in a neighborhood before the value goes up should feel ashamed of themselves too when they sell it and profit? You got your ticket, why you mad?
It’s a dick move, Tommy.
i saw sir paul, when he was here, and over the years, i saw a lot more groups from the dinosaur days of music. and all i have to say is that they now can’t sing for fuck, being an old has been, as with any band or group of 30 years ago. would i go see rush, if the the tickets were free, nope. was offered two by a friend of a friend from a radio station the other day. told her to give them to a drunk, who might be so fucked up, they might think the band was actually good. paul, when are you playing dude, might take a stroll to give a listen sometime in future. you can mail me.
I’d do it, PK. Can’t let opportunities to make money pass you by. There’s a limit of tickets you can buy it’s not like you can go purchase 100 tickets. You can get like 6. I’ve bought resale tickets before, cost me a lot of money but it was either that or miss out. I remember the event well, could give a shit about the $400 it cost me a couple of years ago. Yes I spent $400 on one ticket. An NFL Game. Had I been able to plan ahead I would have gotten a ticket when they went on sale but since I didn’t know I’d be in NYC till a couple months before the game I bit the bullet. Point being, if people weren’t so desperate to see Elton or Neil or Paul or Rush or if they would get their shit together and be there on time, scalpers wouldn’t exist. You can get them online ffs. You snooze you lose. No one forces anyone to buy from a scalper, and it is 100% legal in Canada. Don’t know who OP is so pissed off on behalf of being that she got her ticket.
“I’d do it, PK.”
Then I guess you’d be a dick, then.
Keep it classy, Tommy 😉
A dick who just made a couple hundred quick easy dollars 😛 hypothetically

Well there are two kinds of people,
those who call scalpers dicks…
and those making money off their tickets.
I’m of the mindset that if I can get the tickets and I’m basically paying overhead for the scalper’s ticket to attend as well, they had better be damn good seats.
If they are, I’m fine with that.
That’s capitalism in action
