I’m a transit rider.
Almost Daily I end up waiting at least 5 minutes for the bus to come as it’s a busy route and tends to fall behind.
Almost daily the drivers are really nice and usually apologetic and I understand they can’t control the traffic, so I plan the delay into my travel schedule.
Yesterday the bus was 30 minutes late. Not just 5 or 10, but 30 minutes late. When the door opened I said Hi as I always do but the driver ignored me, I asked for a transfer and he ripped it but when I said thank you, he still ignored me.
At LEAST have the fucking decency to acknowledge the person talking to you actually exists. ESPECIALLY if you’ve made them late for work.
Common decency goes a long way. —Another pissed off transit user…

it was probly because of the road work going on around the city. have a bit of decency yourself, cut the poor fuck a break.
You don’t mention if it was the regular driver behind the wheel. If it was someone else, he might have been the next scheduled bus after the one you normally catch. In that case, or even if he was dispatched out to cover a breaksown, its not his fault that the previous bus didn’t show up on time.
I think we have gone over the quota for Metro Transit bashing this week. Happy long weekend!
No, perhaps it wasn’t his fault for being so late, perhaps it was. I agree with the OP: he could have at least cracked a smile.
One time, a driver ran into Burger King and my bus full of people going to work at 7:30am sat there for over 5 minutes idling. I pass that BK everyday and that had never happened before. Funny enough, I haven’t seen that driver since.
30 mins late in the morning…?
almost sounds like you missed the bus you wanted and caught the next one.
being late is one thing,,, but when the bus you want is 5 or 8 minutes EARLY and you try to get to the stop earlier each day and it STILL drives past you… then you don’t have time to get the next one or you will be late for work so you have to spend 15$ on a cab….. wtf busses, don’t we have a schedule for a reason? stop driving by my house way earlier than you’re supposed to! I can’t adjust my whole life around you deciding that you feel like being 4 minutes late one day, and 10 minutes late the next. And maybe take note if someone is running to catch you!
You have no idea what kind of day he has been having or what is going on in his life. Just take the fucking transfer and sit the fuck down. If the worst thing that happened to you is the bus driver didn’t say hi to you then you are doing better then most of the population.
