When I saw the issue about the 3 buddies on the Mooseheads I thought, “I never thought of The Coast as being very sports-orientated, but it’s a decent story, so whatevs.”
Then, a month or two later, I see the Hockey Championships/Latvians issue and think to myself “Another hockey issue? I guess it’s warranted with the big tournament going on.. but my gosh is that cover ever disgusting.” Seeing it strewn across my workplace for a week was brutal.
Then today, I’m looking forward to my break, to hopefully read something non-hockey related… but NO. No f#&%in way. “Hockey & Art”? Did you guys do a survey and discover every Coast reader is obsessed with hockey? Have you looked outside lately? People want to get stoked on summer! Not hockey!

A lot of us don’t like obscure Indie bands either, but they grace the cover often enough. You can’t please all the people all the time.
Welcome to Canada! Hockey fan or not, you will be surrounded by it! Get used to it.
I’d love to get stoked on summer too, except it still hasn’t hit 20 degrees. Summer is high 20s. And it’s pretty topical considering the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS are in town.Anyway, hockey + art = awesome. It’s Canada, hockey is still THE sport. Accept it and move on.
