WTF? Went to my local coffee shop, very famous coffee shop, known all over the world for their coffee and I looked for The Coast. Nothing. Asked the staff and they said they did not carry it any longer. What? —Want to Read The Coast with My Coffee

Just find some panhandler who’s gargling about how Harper is turning canada into a concentration camp. Presto – Instant Coast, without all that irritating hipster smarm.
BYOC
Oh boo fucking hoo.
quelle fromage
Well, to begin with… it’s not a very good paper, so there’s really no loss…
Yesterday’s edition was no exception. Sad really. The same old shit, or in this case – winners. There is nothing interesting about the Best Of Fill-in-the-Blank bits.
And I’d like to see the actual numbers of voters in comparison to the population of the city. I suspect the total voters are low, let alone the numbers that determine the results.
And when you have one wine bar and they get goldfor best wine list, isn’t that a bit obvious?
Sure, they’ll claim it’s not scientific, if questioned but really it’s a marketing ploy to get businesses to buy ads, both in the short- and over the long- terms.
Can we get some interesting reporting going again?
they never divulge the number of votes cast but i’m very curious
I like the best in food…
I could definitely go without the other ones though.
Where is the Best panhandler of the year…
Best NSP excuse of the year…
Best flagrant waste of money as displayed publicly by government…
Best scandal…
Best value for food stamps…
World famous coffee shop? Is that what it says on the sign, or something? You must be so cool to go there!!!
True Story – I worked in a large building with an in-house cafeteria which used to have the Coast delivered. 2 of the 1000+ tenants complained about “Savage Love”, and they pulled the Coast completely.
That’s some f’d up shit.
Personally… I find the comics more offensive…
in that I take offense they are published to begin with.
still.. I’ve stopped reading both many moons ago.
*I’m not saying I could make a better comic… though I probably could if given enough motivation… but, ya gotta admit, they’re no calvin and hobbes…
The Coast is still available in print form? GTFO…… wow, old school for sure! Learn something new here everyday!
Dan Savage is the only op-ed columnist in this maxipad with a lick of common sense. Heh heh dude said – Oh Forget it!
there are coast and even metro boxes all over the cities. just about every coffee place has one close by, try looking a little bit, before you bitch, next time.
When I worked in the resto our manager had us soak TheCoasts in cold water to drape over the lobster crates while they were waiting to be cooked or tanked. Savage Love used to drive him wild.
As for the Best Of, it’s a popularity contest. Some businesses (I’d like to say most but hate generalizations like that) actively campaign and encourage their customers to vote for them. I mean, seriously, some chick out in Bedford somehow gets enough votes to be crowned “Best Waitress”. I’m sure she is, but seriously?
I dunno… I liked reading PG’s is back up and running…
gonna swing by there tuesday to see the new place.
It’s good to know which places are opening, closing, moving, etc.
I always turn to the coast for that info…
oh, and the online reviews of course.
Some of you people are pretty brazen shitting all over them on their own leased server space.
Heh, I’m just a wascally wabble wouser. This dude was brazen:

I bet it has more to do with the word ‘Fuck’ on the cover than Dan Savage on the inside.
Where’s their new spot?
Xeno; In the case of my former employer, it was specifically Dan Savage – which I must say is one of my fave parts.
I started grabbing Coasts from bus stop boxes and draping them throughout the caf. When the same 2 people complained, I just told them the cafeteria wasn’t responsible for what their customers chose to read and not recycle. 🙂

pretty close by…
close enough with the hamster trail.
NO COAST! SCREAM! the horror…burn the place down and make it look like an accident. (hehe kidding-don’t really)
they probably run out of scones too^^
You’ll have to buy a copy off the Coast and take it to this very famous coffee shop known all over the world. Then the world will be back in balance.
Whoops, I see rrramblin’ prose already covered that. You see, I hate being one of the last posters. The night shift sucks.
I know the coffee shop of which they speak – it was customer complaints about Savage Love.
