satellite radio
I like Phil Collins………What’s he was with Bone Thugs and Harmony.. And Ozzy was with Busta Rhymes.Fuckin’ A!
Haliradio does tend to the dinosaur rock, and it is extremely repetitive. I never understood why a university town like this doesn’t have modern rock radio.
I know from living in the country every person there (seems) to listen to q104 all the way into the city when they come to work. The younger people will listen to C100 to be rebellious.
She’s an easy loverdo do do do doshe’ll get a hold on you believe itdo do do do do!Like no otherdo do do do do!
here’s my favorite Q104 classic-the boys are back in townthe boys are back in town the boys are back in to-ow -ow ow ownthe boys are back in town! You’re guaranteed to hear that one twice daily atleast!
At least they’re not playing any Wham.
BOOOOURNS to the radio stations in Halifax…I’ve been listening to online stuff just to get some variety!!
I have to second cranky’s response in the two words satellite radio. I listen to my Sirius more than I watch TV and I would be lost without it. The variety of music, talk, and sports compared to what you get on the AM/FM side of things is like ‘comparing ice cream to horse manure’ (Bobby Hennan circa 1992). The price for a unit and service is not that much. One month of sirius is about the cost of a cd, and I’m more than willing to shell that out for all of that content. The only defense I will give local radio against satellite radio is that they (local) have to play by the CRTC’s rules where as satellite does not. That means canadian content, identify songs, nothing too risky, and no f-bombs or bombs of any kind. Local radio does inform people on community news, events, and sports, plus provides alot of great charity work for the community. I don’t want to nail local radio to the cross because of those reasons, but it is what it is. Except for the canadian content laws (also known as the ‘Nickleback would never had made it without this legislation act’) hearing the exact same songs every day too me is just a very big commercial for satellite radio. If a song or artist become widley known as the song or artist that (insert radio station here) plays all the time, maybe the music director should ease off them a little bit. That, and I want to give the benifit of the doubt but, everyday I get to hear parts of some of the morning shows second hand when one of my co-workers thinks he’s funny by repeating what he heard that morning on the way to work. Maybe it’s his delivery, maybe it’s because I’ve become use to Howard Stern, three comedy channels, a great top 40 morning show on hits 1, or maybe it’s just me, but I’ll stick to Sirius. I don’t want to hear about Canadian Idol, I don’t want to hear about Survior, I don’t want to hear about how your radio station is the best station in Halifax, I want to beat the bank, I don’t want to be the ninth caller, and I don’t want to be able to predict the songs that will be played next. All of those reasons and I didn’t even mention the overwhelming amount of advertising. Pretty sad the major selling point is the last thing I think of when making this comparison. If you can afford to pay for Sirius or XM but still complain about Q, C100, Kool, Z, Bounce, Hal, FX, 95.7 (to their credit the only local station I can stomach), or CBC, I have no sympathy for you it’s your own dam fault.
i know eh!and your right about the Wham. Its sad i started flipping through the stations to non rock music
Agreed.Halifax’s radio stations aren’t good at varying their playlists. So many times you’ll hear one song three times through the day. What’s worse though, is when callers-in request some stupid song right after others requested it four times before. The pop charts are bad enough, but having to listen to one poorly-made MTV top hit three times in an hour is sickening.
they also play welcome to the jungle and i love GNR ut pick a better song!
