Isn’t it amazing how we can be convinced (sold) on the wonders of technology. I am specifically referring to CNN’S love-affair with Twitter (the “Twitter Revolution” and how it will save the world and put a pork-pie in everyone’s oven- apologies to Muslims). Twitter won’t save Iran- Iranians willl save Iran….or not. Twitter is a tool and nothing more. “It” does not make for a revolution….”it” is technology and nothing more. People should take a minute….take a deep breath and maybe just unplug. Unplugging would be revolutionary.

Twitter is so well named because anyone who would message their buddies with earth-shattering news like: ‘my cat yaks hairballs in joined pairs’ or ‘my feces was the texture of astroturf this morning’ is truly a twit – who in the hell has time for this cyber-puke other than high-schoolers?

One of about 7 reasons the USSR collapsed is because the country was no longer able to live in a bubble, technology allowed their citizens to realize life was pretty decent outside.
Or what about the Vietnam War? One of the main reasons for the anti-war movement was because it was televised, people were watching the war at their table with their meat and potatoes, and that brought the atrocity of war home.
