Clothes are generally cut for the ultra-skinny, which is an “ideal” but it really, really doesn’t fit many people. So if you’ve got another “ideal” like height or a rack D and above, shouldn’t it be EASY to find clothes? Why do I gotta cram my tits into a shirt that fits my waist but need another fucking bolt of fabric to cover my boobs?! Shouldn’t the flat people be made to suffer the same way people who aren’t Le Chateau thin have to “suffer” trying to find fitted clothes? If I’ve got nice tits I DEMAND to be able to wear nice shirts with them. And be able to actually buy a bikini. Seriously, should the AA cup 15 year old be in a bikini or someone who has something to show off? Fuck

I couldn’t agree more! There doesn’t actually appear to be any clothing that fits hourglass figures at all, ANYWHERES! I usually buy extra-large shirts and then take them in DRAMATICALLY at the waist and/ or shoulders. I have to have coats custom made for me as larger ones have the shoulders and waist made incredibly wide. AND! What about the price of bras for larger cup sizes and the lack of availability? There are only two places in the entire city that carry 36G or 36H and it costs well over an hundred dollars to buy simple styles from them. I thought it might be better in larger cities but when I visit stores there as well, it’s as much money or even moreso. $140 minimum to buy a basic bra for a larger cup size here in Halifax? That’s bizarre, but true. The other thing is, if you are well, endowed, it becomes socially unacceptable to wear the same clothes in summer (or anytime of year, for that matter) that everyone else can wear. Even the tiniest bit of cleavage exposed in a tanktop when you are bossomy is asking for scathing looks and awful comments from males and females alike. I have found over the years that most of my female friends have also been “gifted” by the boobie fairy :-); maybe this is because people are intimidated by larger breasts? It might be because most of the clothing made for local stores are made in places that do not have women of Scottish, African, French, Dutch or Germanic descent, etc. and so may have somewhat different body types that they measure and cut cloth for. I have found that clothing made by local designers tends to fit much better, though of course, doesn’t fit nearly as well as I need it to (I still have to alter whatever I buy). Frig.
Try being a slim fashion forward think guy in a market that only caters to the fat and tall fuckers that populate this place. If I don’t feel like shopping at Banana Republic or Duggers I have to go to Montreal to find clothing stores that stock stuff for guys like me. If anybody out there can suggest stores with nice fitting clothing for slim guys it would be much appreciated.
I have a magical solution to all your woes. It’s called a tailor.
Thank you Michael…..I honestly think people just love to hear themselves bitch 🙂
When I look at the XLs at women’s shops, I have to laugh. That fucking size wouldn’t fit a pregnant squirrel, let alone a well-endowed female form. I share your problem and have to resort to buying men’s shirts because a) they fit better and b) they are WAAAYYY better made. Thank Christ for Sally Ann and the fact I’m too old to care about being a fashion plate. As for bras, I despise those goddamn wire torture devices – my queendom for a wire free bra that can hold up two tons of tits.
Ohhh man, I completely agree. I`m not a big girl, but I`ve always had bigger tits. I work in a clothing store and I can`t buy sooo many of the clothes I want because they`re made for tall skinny, skinny, skinny, flat chested girls. However, since I`m quite small everywhere else, I`m super fucked for clothes because they also seem to make shirts super long , and pants super long. Long shirts make me look shorter, long pants=more money having to get them hemmed. The world doesn`t consist of fucking mannequin framed people!!! I want to be able to fit into clothes better!
I agree cranky; there really should be better clothing choices for men in this city, or anywheres for that matter. I’ve heard similar complaints from nearly every stylish or artsy man I know and it’s easy to see what they mean. Most of my male friends are quite talented with a needle and thread and so are luckier than most, I suppose…I think I’d like to refer again to part of my earlier comment that I posted the other day, regarding how women who are well-endowed are not allowed to wear the same clothes as everyone else, even if they do find ways to squeeze into them. As a larger cup size, if I attempt to wear the same shirt in a larger size (whether or not it fits me anywheres besides at my chest) that other people are wearing in a small, I will show cleavage, which I don’t have a problem with, however I find that people act bizarrely towards me if I’m showing even the tinist bit of exposed flesh there, even on incredibly hot days in the summer. Why is it socially acceptable for someone who is smaller chested to wear a white tanktop in 30+ weather but it isn’t for me? I’ve had well-endowed friends make the same comments regarding their experiences. Í find that women will say horribly cutting remarks to me regarding my measurements and that men will say things that border upon violence. Why is our society like this? They’re just BREASTS for crying outloud! A tailor may help to fix the fit of a shirt or jacket but that isn’t going to fix someone yelling at me “nice tits, bitch” from their car on Barrington St., or a woman asking if I’m as stupid as Pamela Anderson, too, at a children’s birthday party. Thanks for listening folks
I was in the middle east over the summer, Dubai and Kuwait. Man you should see the stuff i saw over there. Do you guys know Kickass Shoes on spring garden road? That place sells their stuff at $300 a pop at least. I swear to you, no word of lie, I bought my gf a gift from Kuwait that i saw at kickass shoes for $40, it was priced $350 at Kickass Shoes. No there are absolutely no good clothing stores in this city. I was in Toronto and Montreal and man what a difference. Even in Victoria. It’s actually insulting, the stuff you see here. Are you kidding me? Tiptop is the only all gentelmen’s store in the entire Halifax shopping center? and you can only buy 1 thing from them usually. They only bring 1 nice thing a year. Maybe twice. Duggars, well let’s just say the staff there has no idea what they’re talking about. You go ask them about something, They don’t know what it is, and it’s sitting on the counter next to them. C, clothing for such people is made, we just don’t get it here because of the same reason why Ikea isn’t here! What’s with Le Chateau Girl? I certainly wouldn’t want my teenage daughter shopping there. C, baby you can flash me anytime. I’ll take it in pride and thank you for it. I think it’s a thing of beauty. Skin and bones on the other hand is no where near attractive! One thing from experience, my past skinny gf’s are no where near as good in bed as the average or a bit larger ones. I mean Damn, talk about kinky:p
Hey Coyotex, what about Club Monaco, the Gap, American Eagle, and Banana Republic? Sure they might be a little on the conservative side and at times expensive, but if you’re a guy with good taste and a little imagination, you can look for the sales and work with what you find.
i find the opposite. now that everyone is embracing their curviness, it’s become a fad, just like skinny used to be. im NATURALLY skinny with a falt chest, and i cant find ANYTHING to fit, because everything is shaped for girls with tiny waists, big hips and big boobs. maybe instead of embracing ONE body type at a time, we should teach everyone, no matter what shape, to embrace their body. including clothing designers.
and to coyotex- you obviously havent been sleeping with the right skinny girls, because yeah, i may be skinny, but im still a freak-a-leek who could rock your world
