I left Halifax for Toronto only to case my love. I miss my city so much, the beauty the people. Toronto has nothing on you but consumerism and rude people. I’m coming back to you soon, because I can’t stand the people here. —Halifax You Beaut

you’re insane.
Agreed Zed…OP, I dunno where you are in TO, but I go there a few times a year (non-vacation) and I never fail to meet nice peeps and really enjoy myself there…maybe try the west end?
@Zed: nice to see you back on the radar;P How ya doin?
I, too, enjoy toronto. Last time I was there I stayed with my cousin who lived on a GORGEOUS street in a pretty nice ‘hood. It was like the residential area of Spring Garden between south park and Robie but with more trees and foliage.
And the only shitty people I encountered were from Aurora and Richmond Hill (though only one was from RH). hah. I had great conversations with everyone I met when I went to the mall or restaurants and I even had a great conversation with a cab driver. Even the TTC people were nice to me. Perhaps it’s because I’m outgoing, friendly and polite when I’m out and about.
I’d love to move there if I had a job secured and about 5k in the bank to fund a move.
Ya PK, TO is a really lovely place:) I could totally live there too, provided I had the means to maintain a good quality of life (i.e. not have to work constantly just to pay the bills); and you’re right about the TTC, I have had really good experiences with those peeps too:) Caldense Bakery on West Dundas is another awesome spot–the people are super-nice and the food is AMAZING!!!!!!!
btw, LOVE the new avatar!!!
heading to TO for the boys grad in june, i lived there for 13 yrs
Congrats to the boy, PG! 😀
thanks agent 195, he’s had a job for a few years. will stay with that til he finds something else

nuff said.
oh man, i love rollercoasters
Amsterdam!
Right on, Mr. Meaty!
I hated Americans (collectively,(I know I was ignorant.))until while we drove across the country a few times, we drove down into the states to avoid Northern Ontario.I owe every American citizen an apology. Most folks I met there were friendly;in the states we were in anyway. I’m talking about the mid western states.
Thanks, Shesang! I thought it was time for a new pic. The kitteh in the pic reminds me of a blend of Molly and my new fur-baby, Hannah.
I have to say, my favorite two cities are hands down Ottawa and Quebec. I’d love to live in either city, but my french just isn’t up to snuff. 🙁
AHAHA just found this and I HAVE to share:

GTA? GREATER TURD AREA.
It’s was cool to say that I was actually there, but honestly, I didn’t really enjoy Amsterdam. Too many ‘Murkins laying claim to the place, for one. When I travel to some far-off destination like a city in Europe, I kind of like to have an authentic cultural experience, which is really hard to do when it seems like everyone from your waiter to the shop keeper asks you, “Where y’all from?” If I wanted to hang out with Americans in a foreign city, I’d go to the states and save myself some money. I dunno. I felt gypped.
I don’t smoke dope, (relax. Personal preference. I’m not trying to start up THAT debate again), so the ‘cafes’ were not a draw for me. The Red Light district was interesting for the first 15 minutes or so but then, after realizing that it just keeps going on and on and on…it got boring. (I was only ‘window shopping’. Absolutely no intention of ‘buying’. )
Tried to take in a bit of history so I thought I go check out Anne Frank’s house. LOL Went first thing in the morning and they were already lined up down the street and around the block.
The canals were kinda cool. And the house boats. And the 5 tier bicycle parking garage, (I kid you not!) But honestly, after 2 days, I was ready to leave.
Now, Barcelona….!! COMPLETELY different story! What an AMAZING city. Or Valletta, Malta-gorgeous!
Ah hell, pretty much ANY place in the Med would be fine by me.
except for the bullfighting, spain is great
…and the galgos and lurches…roo
Dunno what galgos and lurches are Painy, but i would love to go to spain ANYTIME–even in the rain, tho i hear that stays mainly on the plane;D ___________________________________
Vasti, perhaps revisiting Amsterdam with a longer to do list next time?? COULD be fun–as for your health, well, i am sure they must have some pretty cool ‘bakeries’ over there;P

Have a great weekend everyone:)
Well I’ve never been to Spain but I sure do like the music. I hear the ladies are insane there and they sure know how to use it.
abig plus we gott farmars markat cookees THA BESTT!
I MISS T.O!!!
at least they have DECENT TRANSIT….
^^ they’re pretty legit with getting people to fuck off with the smoking at stops and transit terminals, too!
Apparently, Shesang, this guy goes around on various transit routes bashing Toronto without abandon. HILARIOUS.
I can picture Zed going around metro transit doing much of the same re: Halifax.
…Especially if wheels is driving that day.
I would… but I prefer at least a modicum of silence on my miserable commute.
PK, you’re right about the smoking AND the TTC Bandit…even as a smoker I have to say I enjoy the non-smoking aspect of TO’s shared city space (makes a big diff:))………but that subway guy is TOTALLY HILARIOUS–he probably makes even cranky TO peeps (wherever they hang out) laugh;D!!!!…btw, when I see the TTC Bandit I will now think ‘how Zeddian’;)
